To anyone: buy it only if it is made in Indonesia. I had two of the same Squiers, one from Indonesia and one from China. The china one was total crap. Neck misalignment, sharp frets, rattling electronics and knobs, almost unplayable. The Indonesian one, a Squier Bullet HSS AW I only changed the strings to Ernie Ball slinky 009-042 and I went on stage. Even the pickups sounded Fender. I have $3000 guitars but I go perform anytime with this one.

I find this guitar reviews very funny, not to speak bad. But no miracle that this Squier guitar sounds great when you connect it to a super deluxe amplifier combined with a nice pedalboard. But hey, Squier is indeed still backed by Fender.

The S is for Squier. and it's a *2014* The rest of it is the guitar's specific serial identity, possibly the actual number produced that year. Cor-Tek manufactures Cort Guitars, plus all their contract stuff for manufacturers like Ibanez, Fender, and now PRS. Cor-Tek is the well established guitar maker (they, along with Samick, are the largest guitar manufacturers in the world and produce far more than the biggest US companies do in-house), Cort is their house brand that is part of Cor-Tek. Cor-Tek and Samick used to be the largest guitar manufacturers in Korea until the mid 2000s, then Cor-Tek moved their operations entirely to Indonesia. 🎸

I love my Bullet HSS Squier...it sounds great and I've played Les Paul and ESP and love my Strat HSS way more. I can afford 5,000$ guitars but glad I bought my squire. Wouldn't trade it for the world. I have a soft tail and it's stays in tune.

It's a good beginner's guitar simply because it's easy to play and lighter weight than the Strat. My Bullet is my favorite.
It would help if you could play. Amazes me how these people set themselves up as "guitar reviewers" and they can barely play a few chords and lead lines. Listen to Phil McKnight or Dave Simpson to see how it SHOULD be done.

rub some steel wool over the frets. Play them. The steel from the strings will wear thru the initial roughness on the fret. Theyre just not polished like better guitars.
I suggest you seek out the Squier California Stratocaster and review that. It's not sold in Europe; it was meant for the non-US Asia Pcific market -- Asia, Oceania, South Americs. I got mine new at a clearance-sale price: the equivalent of US$70.
They make an even cheaper one called the squier MM stratocaster. It's a hardtail stratocaster with a 22 fret neck.
