I like the idea that these guitars are thinner and lighter i never could under stand why guitars had to be thick and to dam heavy. I have had the best tone from lighter body's. i own a 2021 affinity tele, and the ceramic pickups sound great, you can loosen the screw at the head of the tuner and it won't bind. great review. great guitars.

Which is better affinity strat or affinity tele? I like them both but don't know if the other will be better quality
Definitely a maple cap fretboard. With no skunk stripe , it's the only way to install the truss rod that I'm aware of.
I pulled my squire affinity strat out of the closet. It has been in the gig bag since 1998. The strings were rusty but still in tune. Any info and comments on if I should mod it are appreciated. I did see a full mod kit at Stewmac.com. Is it worth upgrading the pups, saddles, pots, tuners etc?

I am speechless...this guy talked for 8.52 minutes and never played a single note to show the tonal range !!! Except for a few seconds of some random notes in the beginning...Nothing at all ! Is it a HSS ? Dont know. How does the bridge pickup sound ? Dont know sir ! How are the various pickup combinations set up ? No idea gentlemen ! How does the neck pickup sound ? Er...Dunno bro ! When you go from the Bullet to the Affinity the quality drops substantially. Rough frets, a truss-rod that often doesn't work. You're better off jumping from the Bullet to the Classic Vibes model. in fact the tuners on the Affinity are worse than the bullet, despite what this individual has said.

you are complaining on the plastic bcover on the back and the neck joint and those two things are just the same in the most expensive american strat, its part of the design of the model seems you dont know much about strats

I bought a 15 year old Affinity strat off ebay, to modify. I scalloped the rosewood fingerboard, replaced the die-cast block saddles with (non Fender) bent steel saddles, replaced the awful string trees with roller trees, and floated the trem. Stays perfectly in tune, even after whammy dives and extreme lifts. I actually like the hot(ish) pickups, and as I said stays in tune, so no need to change the tuners. All I need to do now is learn neo-classical shred, arpeggios, and sweeps! Don't hold your breath!

I would recommend the Indonesian crafted Affinity. You'll get a guitar with decent craftsmanship for its price range at US$ 200ish. The neck feels right and the tuner machine are better than the Chinese crafted Bullet.
Well even the fender american standard and most of the Mexicans have the same block. I guess strat players get used to it.

Well I finally bought one about a month ago second hand from craigslist. It's the 2 tone burst with a rosewood board and I had it set up beautifully and tex mex pickups and better pots put in it. Its a great little guitar and next I'm upgrading the tuners and I couldn't be happier with it!
for me this not only a for beginners guitar the sound is really nice and some chinese guitars (strat style ) the wood is crap this guitar is alder a real wood not the most expensive but is good if somebody have more money buy a Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop .

Some of the Affinity Strats fretboards are on par with a Fender. I got a 2002 with a polished rosewood fretboard if anybody gets the chance buy one. They are very high quality for buttons.

Congratulations on the video, a question to clarify the squier c.v. 50 s MN 2 sb: the wood of the body is pine or alder and, if it was alder, is it multi-layer glued or a single block? and the squier classic vibe 50 s FSR black limited edition the body is in NATO? Nice review mate. These Squier strats are exceptional value for the money. I’ve been playing for over 50 years and had some amazing guitars through my hands. I cut down my ‘collection’ last year and only had a ‘58 CS Les Paul left. But when I decided I needed a strat back in my life I bought one of these. An FSR shell pink ltd edition....sounds like a strat! Plays easy, once I’d polished the frets and put a new set of strings on it. There are quite a few comments about body thickness....I think they’re the same as the standards now. I had a deluxe custom shop strat for a while and I’m sure the body on that was thinner than the squier! Overall though, this one sits by my chair and gets played a lot.
If Shane was playing a $3,000 USD Custom Shop and it sounded JUST like this, many would say "I can hear the crispness of those alnico pickups" and "wow, listen to that tonewood", or my favorite "the rosewood fretboard gives it that nice dark tone." LOL.... in reality, the player is FAR more important than the guitar. Shane sounds like Shane no matter what he plays.
What this model and since?
Upgrade the pickups is a misstake and waste of time and money those stock ones sounds a bit thin yes but you can get a decent thicker sound out of them by experimenting with the heights of them this works for ALL cheap pickups on strats ....

I am a Les Paul guy but this option is way better than the epi special II for a beginner. Way more sustain and it doesn't go out of tune as often. It also sounds better IMHO and if you get the HSS version it's even more versatile.
