It's a cheap piece of crap. The Infrared Thermometer PC868! I bought it on newegg.com and it worked 1 day. Now it just tells me if something is "Lo" or "Hi"....that's it. No actual numbers to truly decipher anything.

I have this product but cannot seem to get the sound to work on it? I have been into the function 4 mode and see the speaker on on the main screen. Any help for this
This model is sold under many different brand names, some for very low prices (I got mine on Amazon for $20 USD) and some for as much as $100 USD. They're all made in Shenzhen, China and come with manuals printed in Chinglish. (I wonder how much it would cost these Chinese companies to have a native English speaker proofread their manuals so that they make sense?) The thermometer stores up to 99 temperature readings, but as far as I can determine there is no way to clear the memory, so once you hit position 99 it will hopefully just start overwriting the old memory positions. You can reset the unit to factory settings, but that doesn't clear the memory either. Nonetheless, it seems to do a good job taking temperatures, so as long as mine keeps working, I'm happy. The manual says it has a one year warranty, but you have to ship it to China for warranty replacement, so I'm sure the shipping would be more than it's worth.
Just received mine today but it does not work, there is a padlock displayed on the screen and it will not take any measurements, any ideas.
The box says it's supposed to change colors.Green normal red over normal n yellow below normal.

Your list is for BEST infrared thermometers but you didnt actually test any of them, you're just advertising the product and using the manufacturers description. I've used the General Tools Infrared unit and it is terrible in every way and it gets very low ratings. I've also used the KLEIN unit and it is very inaccurate in low temp or high temp situations (i personally got a reading of 79 degrees from an ice cube and a reading off 475 degrees from an exhaust pipe on a Honda civic. If you're going to list the "BEST" products, you should be testing them and reporting the pro's and cons, not just advertising a product and reading a script.

I learned these units are only good for measuring surface temperatures. For example, you can't use them for taking water temperature.
