I have done this on so many thing on my bike over the years, like if you have a Potts mod you can zip tie the front cable out of the way and its not hitting your bars.

Also it will provide you a stabler, smoother performance of controlling system, because no fault in the middle. - Normally ILINK housing will be a little bit longer(1~3 pcs links longer), because it has little space between each links, and it should be compressed by adjusting your gear or brake system. (shifting your gear system 2~3 times until ILINK is all compressed, and adjust again after riding few times) - Truly linked together, max angle protection, prevent bending or broken your liner and cables.
