first real guitar and i mainly listen to metal or heavier alt so i lean towards these genres. looking at this vs. ltd m-50...thoughts? advice?
Excellent alternative for me! I've been looking for a pretty cheap guitar to experiment with and this is perfect! Besides I'm sick and tired of all the average priced guitars with floyd rose. Great review!
I have an m10, swapped with hipshot locking tuners and now some les Paul humbuckers
I went to GC looking for something like a hardtail Jackson King V or Rhodes, something with 24 frets and a fast neck. I was willing to spend 2-3 times what this LTD cost new ($180) and ended up leaving with this M-10. It just clicked - felt GREAT and the fit and finish were excellent. A guitar of this quality and price were non-existent when I was growing up!
Switched mine out for seymour duncans (SH2n and SH4 JB) and sounds insane now!
should I buy the m 10 or go for the ibanez grx 20 ?

Thanks , excellent review. I just purchased this on a whim because of the price and been wanting an esp , wasn't expecting a lot but it sounds descent. Iv'e got 4 guitars already and wasn't looking to spend a whole lot since i just purchased a schecter demon 6 about a month ago , didn't want to push my wife over the edge with another big purchase. I had to order it online from guitar center because the one closest to me didn't have it in stock , i'm hoping it won't need to much of a set up out of the box , i'll probably change the strings and hope for the best. Thanks again for the demo!
Going to look at one today. $115 from Facebook market place. Because of the reverse headstock, I want it for a guitar to put .010-.052 strings and tune to open C and riff some SYL and Devin Townsend tunes.

You are lucky you got one that was decent. I played a Total of 5 m10s at 2 different stores and they all needed fret levels. I ended with a Jackson instead.

I have this LTD. Changed pickups on EMG H4/H4A. Although is one of cheapest ltd, after replace the pickups its became killer!!!!

All Music Stores I know of are middlemen, selling and making money, that is all, they could sell about anything or actually not. If I buy from a local Store they will set the guitar up within a week or so... If I may ask but I do not because these guys do not give a F! Their "setup" is strings tuned to E well close enough puhhh... (three days of hard labour) the guitar will all most certain end up as dented in some way in the process of foolin around. The music bizz is cold and uggly. So here is what I do, I will buy a brandnew 75-250 bucks guitar from a webbsite, it will be sent tighly secured in an very well shielded factory boxing.

Maybe you just had a bad experience with your GC , but i bought a brand new Schecter Demon 6 from the one near me and also bought a used amp and i had no problems what so ever..
I own this guitar. It is a good guitar overall. Had no issues for a couple of years. Quality at a cheap price point. I bought it in India. Learnt a lot of Metallica and Megadeth Riffs and a few solos. Couple this with any Zoom multi-effects pedal and a low-cost amp or if you are really low on budget, a pair of monitor headphone would be fine too. 300-350USD overall

I ordered a used viper-50 from GC a few months ago and it was wrecked! Looked like someone used it as a hammer! It's all kinds of beat up. Neck pickup doesn't work. An inch long crack on each side of the neck and body pocket. Hardware and screws all corroded. It was filthy af too! Like it was stored at a nasty ass flop house for years. 10 yr old strings n all. F*ck GC I'll never order from them again.
Sounds good, but pity about ESP's quality control not being good. I was considering getting a 7 string ESP in that price range, but passed on it, maybe just as well I did. Good video TDS. 🤘
I have an m53 thats chunky as hell. The stock pickups are pretty good especially for how cheap the guitar is.
My 1st electric was a esp ltd F-50 and I still play it to this day ☺.
Funny thing, I bought a used ex 351 ltd from guitar center in march and it came with chipped frets on the 15 and 17th fret so when I try to play note on those frets almost nothing plays because the fret is just dead, also when I'm bending some strings in certain areas the note will give out after bending high enough the string, its great 🙄
Guitar Center sucks
This was my first guitar, and I bought it used for $150. Very solid axe for the money.
Guitar Center does not inspect, set up nor do they care about what they sell to the consumer. Every guitar from Guitar Center that I have tried has not been set up properly. Even their expensive guitars are not set up properly. Their techs do not know shit. Every guitar that I purchased from them needed a proper set up. I have only purchased four guitars from them in my thirty years of guitar playing, and yes they will sell you a lemon over and over again.

The biggest reason I think this guitar has such a low price is because it doesn't have a fancy paint job. I bought mine months ago and it's amazing. Stays in tune, sounds great and plays great. I have a $800 Epiphone flying V and my ESP LTD MH-10 sounds and plays just as good.

Good guitar but the Mitchell MD300 sounds 10x better and has nice locking tuners. Buying an ESP M10 is like getting a $229 guitar for $150. Buying an MD300 for $150-$200 is really more like getting a $600 guitar for $200, in terms of overall sound and sustain.
i have an m-10 with 2 dots at 12th fret instead. i think it's the best value guitar i've bought in 30 years for about $95.
