The difference in price is basically just the name and cheaper labor in China. Wood is wood.
Do the drop test and see which plays best! I have the Epi and it sounds and plays great 😊 My friend has the Gibson J200 I defy a layman to tell me the difference! You didn’t mention the Epi has two pups and stereo option. If you want a big guitar sound and your not a snob go for the Epi! The Gib is lovely but not 4K,s worth.
Seems a real shame how clearly biased this review is. I may do a review of the Epiphone myself, as the guitar deserves way more credit than you've just given it. Your playing was notably less enthusiastic on the Epi.
I wore headphones, and heard a lot of mistakes and saw the difference in your playing. Don’t be biased. Make it a fair match-up.

Trying to sell the Gibson, huh? In my part of the world you can buy a decent enough small car by shelling out $5,249! By the way, there's a long list of players who chose Epiphone -- Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, John Lee Hooker, Pete Townshend, Marc Bolan, Bob Dylan and Les Paul himself! So, just stop dissing Epiphone
Really dude? With all due respect, that was a very weak attempt at a fair comparison of the two guitars.
He is strumming the Gibson harder as well. Maybe that is a subconscious thing due to a decision already being made about which is better.
the Gibson is nice, but not worth 4500 dollars more than the Epiphone. i have an old Epiphone electric(1969 vintage?) and 2 Epiphone acoustic guitars. nice guitars.
Weirdly I think the Epiphone sounds better when he plays them both. Has a softer, warmer sound.
Blindfold the guy. thats the real test. I do not hear £4000 of difference in tone here that I couldn't fix with an eq

How is an instrument that's cutaway going to sound like a flat top guitar? It's not a fair comparison and he dident point out that Epiphone were making this instrument without the cutaway now that would have been a fair comparison.

When you pick up Epip you appear not very enthusiastic like you did with the Gibson guitar. Are you pair to be holding back with the upper fault will you pick up the Gibson that you’re all Mr. excited excited
I bought an Epiphone EJ-200CE with the e-sonic2 pick up system. It has an nanomag pickup at the neck, and a Nanoflex pick up at the bridge. The sound range difference plugged in beats the Gibson pick up, hands down. I played both extensively before buying. The playability, and sound was negotiable. It was no where near worth a $4800 difference. I choose the Epiphone over the Gibson due to the electronics, and price. Of course the Gibson sounded better in this video! He sells guitars, his commission is larger on a $5000 guitar than a $500 dollar guitar. Did you notice how softly he played the Epiphone vs the Gibson? This dude is straight up full of it! Yeah the Gibson sounded better unplugged, but once plugged in, the versatility of the TWO pickups vs one smashed Gibson! Moral of the story, Gibson's prices have steadily gone up, while their quality has steadily gone done. I preferred the Epiphone over the Gibson. The Epiphone has a beautiful voice, and I love it! The Gibson has a beautiful voice as well. It just isn't good enough to justify the price. It comes with a case? I bought my Epiphone, a case, and two amps, you can plug into two amps at once. I also bought 3 addition sets of strings, a capo, and other stuff. I had enough left over to take the wife out for dinner, and a movie. That took her bitching about me buying another guitar down to a minimum! And I still had plenty of money left over! The question you must ask, are you buying a guitar, or a name?
I dont think i've ever seen a more biased review. Gibson must be backhanding you guys to deliberately make the Epiphone appear much more inferior. There was clearly a massive difference in how you approached the practical demonstration of both models. I call bullshit.
