How long do they last? Is this a good size for the AD200 when I can't take my Ranger RX Speed As pack because it can't do HSS
Can this be used with Speedlites or the Good AD200?
What kind of reflective material its used on the inside walls?
"Not the cheapest" wins understatement of the year. o.O
Nice. I just ordered this same modifier with the new Elinchrom ELB
I have one rotalux deep octa in 100cm for my Profoto head. It produces beautiful and unique light of quality due to its deep design the only complain is Elinchrom itself doesn't make grids for their octa series only for strip boxes which is sad. 3rd party company like Lighttools has grids for them but it's so much front heavy and the price is more than the octa box itself! Other than that, it is a perfect octa box for studio and travel kit especially the setup and take down speed is fast as much as an umbrella.
great video scott
excelent review. I want one ;-)
Which Octa is this, 175 cm is it ?
Is is compatible with FRX400?
Great Information, only the image quality is very bad for 2017. ;-)
Seria muy bueno que una marca tan prestigiosa realizara vídeos en español.
thanks!

elinchrom reflective varistar umbrella box vs softliter shoot thru brolly box,,which is better for portraits?,,,does the eli create an hotspot on the subject,,,wouldn,t the softliter give a softer light ,,,I,m only an amateur trying to get the best effect with a limited budget,,softbox umbrellas can be bought quite cheap on ebay,,,any ideas welcome,,,cheers

Many, many thanks.

What's with the distracting background noise at 1:21? I can barely hear you.
for the shot at 2:10 did you use a cto gel?
terrible do something else
Two quick questions. Have you ever had the inner silver lining tear near the mount opening? I had that issue with my 39" Deep Octa. Also, do you find it hard to lay down the rods or pull them out, I'm wondering if I should apply some lubricant on them. Thanks!
nice vdo! have u tested maxilite reflector also and how does it compare with the maxispot? I am looking to buy one, but getting confused between maxilite, spot, and HP reflectors
How is this a review?
What the heck is going on in the background? :]
Excellent and touching video. touches the heart
I love it !
Great job on this video mate! Straight forward and informative
Excelent video
Also like Bonus Card
I liked that very first one you did, may pick one up.
Awesome! Literally tested all the options I have been looking at! From the cheap ebay options that seem like they might do the job to the expensive well known ones too!
WOW!
Thank you for this video, I'm going to get me the one you rated 10/10 sliver and white, and the softbox.
I've got the "diffuser reflector" thing that fits onto the camera lens. I use it for macro photography, and I find it gives a nice diffused light right next to the end of the lens, which is great for photographing small subjects. You're right, though: the hole is not big enough for my (Tamron 90mm macro) lens, a major design fail! I´ll need to find a way to make the hole a bit bigger without completely wrecking the thing. By the way, if you can manage to fold this thing back into its original bag, you're a better man than me. Also, I don't at all care about looking like a numpty when using it, but that's just me.
Best diffuser video on youtube by far.
hahaha i love brits.always funny and energetic
If you were outside, the results would change drasticallyfor some of the options you are benefited from bouncing from the walls.
Nice videoI personally use the Rogue Photography design Rogue Flashbender as much as the Gary FungAgain depends on your lighting situation. When I use the mount flash setup.
Very good
thank you so mush you video is really usefull for me, but please give the full comparison from all the flash diffuser so we can see all the different between each diffuser
A very nice video. Gives a very good overview of diffuser. I have got the diffuser (White & Silver) which you prefer to keep in your bag. However, I haven't used it much. After watching this video I will seriously try it. I have also the one which you tested first & rated 7/10. Again didn't use it much. I will try that as well.
Thanks a lot for the nice Video !
Thanks for this straight forward comparison! That's exactly the type of content I'm looking for when trying to learn about gear. Also happy to see I already have one 8/10 option living in my backpack!
I'm sorry but you got everything mess up.
What is important is the size of the light source, on your first test you compare a small diffuser that is pointed to the ceiling against a cobra flash pointed directly to the subject, so of course your diffuser + ceiling will give you a much softer light !
Here is a little tip, at you home paint the ceilings with flat pure white paint.
Then, paint all the walls with a neutral grey paint, now you have a huge photographic studio for free !
It is a mandatory to use a neutral grey paint on the walls to avoid any color reflections.
Now just bounce your SB-900 flashes (excellent flashes by the way) on the ceiling and you get a high quality light that will make your photos look like you did not use any flash at all !
Enjoy !
:o)
long before reading your comments re: diffusers, I'm using the. flat white/silver one! Never failed me Cheers!
using the
9:26 don’t those types of diffusers waste a lot of light because of how much goes out to the sides and the rear. Your favorite one has been in my event bag for over 2 years now and I have a few of the ones that you showed here. Great video.
Really enjoyed watching this video but I think all of your shots with the flash in vertical position were better because of the ceiling bounce.
Maybe an outdoor test would give other results?
