Jensen Portable Cassette Player Review!
Jensen Portable Cassette Player Review!
I got one at Target (it's all black, not black and silver). It has issues. It plays ridiculously slow. Like the music is inaudible, it's just a low rumble. Sometimes if you wait a few seconds it'll speed up and be audible but it's still too deep. I checked the manual it comes with, it says that the player needs to be cleaned if it does that, but that makes no sense when it just came out of the box and it's doing that right off the bat. I've seen mixed reviews on this player. Some are very good. Some bad. Makes me wonder. Should I return it and get a replacement or just go online or to an antique store and find an older one that works good.
I bought a similar Jensen cassette player recently, it's struggling to play C-90's. I probably shouldn't try to play major brand cassettes of one time recordings :-(
I bought one of these and it worked but one problem was the play button for mine, once I press it, it would only play the cassette for a few seconds then just pop back out. I have no idea what’s going on
Everything causes cancer according to California. It’s proposition 65. Its corrupt -
Do not buy it ate my tapes and stopped working in 5 minutes
I heard its very bad
Absolute GARBAGE DO NOT BUY! I bought this off amazon, lasted 30 mins before it started playing to fast
Can you record audio?
Mine isn't working. It worked once and now it won't play ):
Does it have a 3.5 mm jack?
I liked and subscribed!
4:53 I do. News radio but mostly KFI.
Does the audio quality sound really great
The Jensen SCR-68C is made by Kar Wi Electronics Development, Ltd and also known as the Akiwa KW-118C.
As soon as he said "What ever that means" referring to a feature the casette player had, i new this review was not great.
Your review was entertaining and fairly informative. I bought the Jensen SCR-68C three weeks ago at Target for $15. Neither Sony ("Walkman") or other big-name companies make cassette players any more, and there's really no high-quality brand-new players on the market. Players like this don't have powerful motors, so at times you'll hear excessive "wow" and "flutter". Older tape that's been sitting unplayed for years? Be sure to fast-forward and rewind the entire cassette to loosen the tape and internal mechanism. As for buying used, most used players will have age-related and wear-and-tear related problems like being off-speed, out of alignment, or sound shorting out during playback. If you don't want to spend time repairing an "oldie but goodie", this Jensen is brand new, inexpensive and works adequately. IF you buy one, though, be sure to test your Jensen player ASAP. Stores have very short return policies on electronics. The product warranty from Spectra (Jensen) is 30 days for parts & labor. After 30 days, Spectra warranties parts only for 60 days but you must pay for shipping.
I need one with a speaker. Wonder if Jensen makes a quality recorder. I'd like to see someone demo that.
I had an issue where the tape head didn't apply enough force to the tape itself therefore making it sound high pitched. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Lol.... I'm now convinced to buy it. I saw these laying around in target hahaha
Can you use headphones on this?
I has one too
I got a rca cassette player. Its great
Garbage machine, even if you just wanted a disposable portable stereo, there's better options for that price, this is a modern garbage machine, buy a late 90s disposable Sanyo instead, (they will actually have a REWIND)
I got one for Xmas this year... COMPLETE GARBAGE. Even at full battery or plugged in through 3v A/C this piece of crap did not play at speed... the sound quality was shyte, and I couldn't even get a decent radio signal. This is NOT a "cassette player" because it was not able to play cassettes.... In other words, its garbage like this and the people who foist on us that is really really bad for the world. Cheap plastic crap that doesn't even work. THANKS to EVERYONE at Jensen. Bites a little harder that the box says that Jensen is a "Green" company. Bull. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I'm getting my money back.
Since 1979 Sony Walkman.
I bought one and I can't figure out how to rewind the tapes as it has no rewind button
Looks like a BaseTech/RenkForce/(insert_name_here) KW-118C clone with a different case design. Everything else seems to be the same. It's a cheap plastic crap with plastic transport, nowhere near the Sony Walkman quality.
Hi its real STEREO SOUND? if real is nice
How long do the batteries last?? Did the player chew any tapes?? Thanks!
I got this and can’t get it to work
just got mine for 13 bucks to replace my old worn out walkman!
