How can u charge it...judt like a phone or u have to use the wall station? And u have to hold on the button always while u are vacuuming, or it has an on/off button?

I have one on the way. I'm kind of worried because I've always had powerful corded vacuums. This seemed like it would be easier to use on fabric furniture and stairs. I'm definitely buying an extra battery but from amazon where they cost 45.00 vs 129.00 from dyson.
Impractical vacuum, it’s too expensive and doesn’t vacuum a 3000 square foot house! Battery last for only 15 mins if you put on high! It’s sucks!

I am looking for a silent vacuum. When I did some research this was one of the suggestions for a silent vacuum, but in your video I never get to hear the vacuum at work bc of the voice over commentary. Follow up: This is not a silent vacuum. Sounds like any other vacuum.

Picked up the V8 Absolute on Cyber Monday for $249. Seemed like a no brainer since it $50 less than the V8 Animal. I've been using it for 3 days now and absolutely love it. I have ran the battery down but honestly it's still a new "toy" for me so I've been over doing things a lot and playing with the high power mode. Once I get back into my normal vacuum routine I don't see that I'll have any problems. The job it has done cleaning my carpets is incredible, I usually never walk barefoot because it always felt dirty. That has totally changed. Coming from an upright, canister, and a corded stick vacuum all either a Shark, Rainbow or Hoover I am now forever a Dyson user.
Just placed my order for the V8 absolute on Dysons site, and they threw in the allergy kit, and a free flexi crevice tool!
I Dont Recommend it , it's to heavy i used it last night for the first time now my hand really hurt even my thumb hurt , am not comfortable using it again, i bought dyson vacuum v8 from GERMANY and i live in Dubai  , i called dyson contact number in dubai they say i cant returne it from dubai, it's an interntional company i dont know why cant return it , just waste of money  such a nice and strong cordless vacuum like dyson v8 the engine must be down not to carry it up and it will be so better if the vacuum can stand up not but it at the floor.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! I had my Dyson for two and half years before the battery stopped working. Conveniently for Dyson their warranty runs out after two years. Now they expect me to shell out another $120 for a replacement battery. Do your self a favor and go buy a different vacuum from anyone other than these crooks!
Something that bothers me about these cordless vacs is that battery life is so short, it takes so long to charge, and i don't really have the option of buying an extra battery pack and swapping out like i do with my typical cordless power tools. I can not even vacuum my entire living room with one charge, & it is small! Maybe about 12'x20'. So what good is this machine to me honestly?

Do you recommend trying to pick up human hair out of the carpet floor before vacuuming? I shed my hair a lot and it’s long and there’s so much of it in the carpet. Is it necessary to do that so it won’t clog up the vac? Also, would it be okay to use a lint roller to pick it up off the carpet?

The V10 and V11 were sold out everywhere and I was kinda bummed. They had a V8 absolute and V8 animal at target and decided on the animal. Wow. I mean wow the power on this thing is mind blowing. I couldn’t believe the amount of stuff I pulled out of the carpet in not a huge living room. Had to empty it twice. Amazing vacuum. By far and above the best one I’ve ever used.
Bought this 2.5 years ago, love the vacuum. However, I've had two issues till date: 1. Hardwood floor attachment (Absolute version) stopped working. Seamless Dyson customer support got it replaced within warranty 2. Battery time reduced to 45 seconds. This time it was out of warranty and Dyson doesn't offer any help. Here's the surprise: they said batteries to run out after 2 years of extensive use. So, expect to spend $129+tax+shipping on battery every 2-3 years
Can you turn off the beater/brush bar head ? We have antique rugs that should not be cleaned with a beater bar. Think of whipping thread from the 1920's with a stiff bristle tat rotates really quickly. It's also not recommended for certain carpet types. nd I don't want to use the soft brush bar either. Much appreciated!!
The worst vacuum I have ever used (didn’t get to use much thought because it kept failing!). Of course the battery issue and they send another battery but the one they sent wasn’t charging. I now have two batteries that they won’t charge and of course the warranty is finished. I would never spend a penny to buy Dyson again especially, how much it had costed me and I didn’t even get my monies worth. No more Dyson in this household and I’m telling everyone about my experience with them.
The Dyson V8 is on sale for 229 for black friday. It is the "motorhead" version. Do you know what the difference is with that version?
Worst vacuum ever!! Do not buy this vacuum unless your only going to vacuum for 3 mins. It takes 5 hours to charge and doesn’t last the long

I just bought the v8 animal brand new for only $150 which is incredible compared to the $399.99 price tag
Got one for $387 on discount with Geek squad warranty. Only downside is it dies really quick. Does not last 40 min, so keep that in mind. Always keep it on the charger after use. Besides that money well spent. I enjoy cleaning without hauling a huge piece of shit around this huge house.
