Interesting video! How would you clasify the rivetless swish knocker or swish that Simon Phillips uses? I believe 24 with a big bell. Im Looking for that cymbal to purchase for ages because it has a great sound. Thanks

Glad they are making them thinner now. I have a 70's knocker which replaced an old 22" swish with rivets that got damaged on a gig. The new one sounds more in keeping with the old swish model. My only thought would be to try it with less rivets like the pre knocker swish's , to really get that Mel sound.

I am just not a fan of it. Glad you demo'd it because you settled my curiosity about it. Just not a cymbsl for me. The 20 rivets is interesting. Hal Blaine had only one rivet (actually a set screw and nut) on his ride cymbal, giving it just a hint of sizzle. With the screw and nut, it was easy to take off for particular sessions.
So the other switch knockers that you have are they higher pitched

Sounds like riding a China cymbal to me, but my hearing is not great at the moment!
