I love my Raw Bell ride. The AAX is my favorite, but I play metal. I want a cymbal to be very bright so that it sits high in the EQ by itself so that it can be heard.
I`m a Paiste player but this ride is GOOD!
Do he use it in his setup? I've always wanted a similar ride to the one he used to record Cyclorama, but Sabian's website only shows his set with a prototype model. Is this the one he used or at least has a similar sound when recorded in studio?
AA medium ride or AA rock ride. I have 21" AA rock ride my self and I love it!

Does, but is quite a bit more expensive. Anyway, IMO, they're all quite similar but the HHX one is godly.
To any of you who have played this ride, i play a wide variety of music, a lot of technical stuff, but my main genre is grunge and punk, and im looking for a ride to not really crash on, but to use as a ride with a nice ping and nice bell to it. and i want to know is this gunna be loud enough for rock and louder genres of music?
As good as this ride sounds, it's my least favorite raw bell dry ride.

i have this same ride. but mines a little brighter.they all sound a bit different. be sure to hear one in person or in a video like this to know what youre getting.

I like the clarity and precision of this cymbal. My only criticism is in general with ride cymbals that have a lot of pitch, that is to say as you play it you hear a hummmmm tone going on. This seems to have a lot of that. Im afraid the overtone might clash.
You can play rock and jazz with this one. Its amazing.
I've been playing this cymbal for about 4 years now in my metal band. I love it for the clarity and bell. I shop around constantly to stay updated on the market and I've never found a bell that I like more. The bell sound seems to be several steps higher in pitch which REALLY helps it cut through the mix whether live mic'd, live unmic'd, or in the studio.It doesn't crash though. In my experience there is always a tradeoff between stick clarity and crashability, where thinner cymbals crash better at the expense of clarity. I crash on it very rarely, only when I want a dark, mellow tone.
