Bro haha I feel like I'm the only one who preferred the sand crash. That's the sound I hear in my head when I think about a crash cymbal, the other one seemed too bright for me...

It's actually remarkable how similar the AA (5:27) and A custom (6:11) sound. Aside from the A custom being a bit higher pitched they're virtually identical.

From my ear, the best out of the 10 is the Zildjian A. It has the cleanest, most crisp and controlled response that makes it suitable for several types of genres of music. The worst was the Paiste Signature. Sounded very uncontrolled. Like an out of tune gong! The Meinl Pure Alloy was also very bad. Too tinty. I’ve always used Zildjians and this demonstration has confirmed Zildjians to still be the most versatile of cymbal manufacturers. I’d like to see a demonstration of ride cymbals as I’m yet to find the perfect ride cymbal that suits my set. Great video. Thanks!

Wuhans are my favorite and some of the cheapest. The warranty of 2 lousy months, since purchased in 2018 by Cardinal Percussion, sux! i Zildjian would be my #2 - but the Wuhans have the most expansion, comes with a bag and have the most consistent sound. In fact, I have a pair of 14" hats on my 1968 Burgundy sparkle Ludwig set. They sound great. I was rather disappointed with the Sabians and Paiste's.

If the HCS logo weren’t on those cymbals, people would actively seek them out just as much as much more expensive cymbals.

Out of the major brands the Zildjians sound the best, but the Wuhans are the clear winners here

Wow! I just fell in love. Will go for Meinl HCS141620.
A tornado destroyed evening including my drums and my mix of Sabian AAX and HHX cymbals ,well 3 years later I finally got my dream set of drums, and a full Gibralter rack which didn't leave me much price room to get the same cymbals I lost, so I got the Meinl HCS seris Ultimate Pack for like $400, Fast forward 2 years later and I decided to stay with Meinl and purchased the Brilliant Meinl Classics Custom set for $999 and couldn't be happier!
I'm with the others. The Wuhans were head and shoulder less brassy and cheap sounding. I'd choose those to upgrade a cheap kids kit.

The Sabian B8X are the best by far especially if you get the rock crashes instead of the thin crashes because they have more sustain, power and attack to them and are darker sounding and for a drummer with a budget like me they are well worth the money-highly recommend! Also great comparison vid- u guise do the best around👍

Wuhans are pretty sweet cymbals. Cant be beat at that price point.
