Backlight bleeding is a real issue on Dell U3219Q model. When I heard about it, I thought it will not happen to me. Unfortunately, I have sent my monitor for replacement two times already. Waiting for a third one to arrive.
Between this and the BenQ PD-3220U, what do you prefer?
I changed this monitor for LG 27NG950. And i this Dell not good for Mac users and who looks movies or play games. But i do miss 32” screen. 27 is really small.
I don't know why everyone is banging on about scaling and text legibility. don't get a 4K monitor if that is an issue! Jesus. what did you expect. it's a higher resolution monitor!
Hey, Teoh. This has been incredibly informative, but I have a question. Since you've tested so many 32" displays, which one would you recommend? What I like about this one besides the color accuracy is the easy 1 cable connectivity to a MacBook with 90W power output through their thunderbolt. I'm coming from a U2719D which is a budget option and am trying to make the most of my budget, around $1,000.
Why this monitor reconnects when shut down and start computer again the screen cannot recognize Mac Mini via USBC? When i unplug usbc and reconnecting monitor it helps. Is it MacOS, Dell or maybe using Apple original Usbc cabel can help this?

There is a lot of misinformation in this video. macOS does not reduce the resolution, it scales up. You can actually see the "scaled resolution may affected performance" warning that indicates it scales.

He hasn't even used it for one single time, still he knows this is "the pick of the month". Best monitor you can get? No, this is a cheap entry level model. The best monitors are made by Eizo and Nec. And their price tag is far beyond this one.

Highest quality monitor out there today? Hello? That made MY hair stand up too. Ever heard of Eizo ColorEdge? I would rather say that the Dell is an entry level item. Price is cheap compared to the high-end monitors.

Wondering about its backlight bleed. Is it acceptable? No patches on pure black and white? Can you watch movies with little environmental light? Also, could someone please provide an angle test with a clean white image? This helps to know that the panel seems to be free from "wandering shadow" effect of some IPS panels, as seen here: is the screen glossy?

Dave, in my point of view you did typical advertisement deprived of any value. After watching this video I don't know why I should bought this monitor instead of much chipper one - whatever I mean. Both have beautiful colors and allows to watch footballs you are addicted to. If you use this monitor watching pictures / videos generated by laptops, you wasted your money. This monitor suppeorts 10-bit color depth. To take advantage of this you will need special graphics card which generates colors in floating points numbers instead typical office/gaming/laptop card doing this in integers. You need also applications which allows to utilize such a wide color space (CADs / 3D renderers) or unique graphics / video content sources such as hi-end cameras supporting aRGB and high dynamic range etc. You also did not mention that this monitor contains LUT memory which allows to avoid color banding after hardware calibration (typical problem for typical monitors). You also forgot to say that internal color space has 12 bits per pixel what is the key for understanding of quality of calibration and value of this monitor. Only after meeting many conditions can you see the advantages of it. Otherwise you will not see any difference between this monitor and other worth 200$.

I've yet to see a top score for this product in proper reviews. I was looking to see if something could compete with the expensive high-end Eizo monitors I've been using for years going on to 4K products, but this Dell monitor is not a competitor. It's more of a consumer friendly alternative. Wouldn't change my ColorEdge right yet so I guess I'm gonna have to splash out on high quality monitors for my graphics work also in the time to come. This Dell screen could work as a second monitor tough. Or perhaps an ultra wide would be more fun.
