Mine keeps freezing constantly. I couldnt even update my laptop, and barely have a slim chance of even logging in. I took it into a repair shop, Best Buy in fact, but the problem returned yet again. It says theres no problems along with hard drive and programs. Any solutions?
Is their a stylus that works with this laptop?
Does this laptop would be suitable to run smoothly the softwares like SAP, autocad, sketchup, rendering etc?
Its infuriating that this got windows hello and a good battery, yet the new 8th gen CPU version FINALLY got pen input but axed the battery capacity and windows hello...
does usb c type port support external Ethernet port
Do you know if you can run both the M.2 SSD and a SATA HDD at the same time?
1:39 could you fit a ssd or something in the bottom left area?
Can you take notes in it in class? Like use a stylus pen and write notes? I was thinking about getting this one for school.
I bought it since came out and really worth the buy.
Very nice, unfortunately I have the previus verson with plastic chassis
Hi Lisa, I have a quick question. On the Dell website the Dell Active Pen (PN338M) is listed as compatible with this laptop of the review (Inspiron 13 7378 2in1). However, checking online I see many people complaining that it does not work. In your review you mentioned that old dell pens do not work with this model. Could you confirm if this specific pen works or not with this laptop/tablet? Thank you a lot :)
You do great reviews, subscribed!
Just picked up this laptop Core i7, 12 GB, 256 SSD 13.1 inch for $639 in Best Buy. Also known as a steal.
I see at Best buy and at Dell that they now have ones with full stylus support. I do also see that Dell sells ones that don't mention stylus, but have always mentioned it in the product description. I don't get why they have both with the same general model#, very annoying. Has anyone gotten one with Stylus support?
Recently stumbled upon your reviews Lisa, exceptionally thorough and useful thank you! Might I ask if there a machine out there that you would categorize above the rest in terms of battery life, durable build, graphics and upgradeable internals...I just like Dell because they are built tough to last forever but really want a solid new netvertible...any thoughts....thank you in advance! @mobiletechreview
Dear Lisa, you mention this Dell model 7378 7000 series with kaby lake processors doesn't support active pen. I saw these 2in1 with i5 and i7 (7gen) at Best Buy with a sticker that says "support pen". These 2in1 are match with bamboo active pen from Wacom. I call dell they said the difference is in the screen. Best Buy said the screen is the same, the difference is in the processors ... I'm super confuse. What would be reason that makes these dell 7000 active pen capable ? The processor the screen or the pen ?
Wow, a review that actually had all the information I was looking for!
Have you tried using it with Dell Active Pen PN338M? Checked on Dell's website and it is supposedly compatible with this Inspiron model.
Hey Lisa, I'm looking a laptop for college and everyday usage. I bought a laptop a little over a year ago for a little over $500 (most expensive computer I've bought to date), and the battery has already deteriorated to a point where it's critical after an hour or so of use. I feel as if the price of computers is rising while the quality is doing the opposite for middle tier and lower end models. I was hoping this have a product suggestion fruit something under $600 that can do the job and do it well. I don't need the fanciest specs on the world, I just need a reliable computer that isn't super slow or buggy and is good enough to last a few years. Do you have any suggestions?
Is the fan loud?
I wish I had the money, I would return mine for the hp spectre x360. I like the laptop, just not the screen resolution.
I understand that you mentioned it does not support active pen but if I were to buy an active pen and use it on lets say oneNote for note taking, would the experience be bad ? Thank you. Subscribed and Liked! Cheers
is the casing metal?
is this new model better than i7359? i see it has less usb ports and the audio is not in the sides
@TechDude731, You mention in the video that this can be charged using USB-C. I have this model (7378) and i can also see that dell says on the website for this model that it can be charged with USB-C, but when i plug a usb-c cable into it, it does not charge. Just wondering did you get it to charge using USB-C?P.S Anybody out there considering buying this. I would completely recommend it. Very little fan noise, very fast for the normal user, it has all the I/O ports that normal people need. Can feel a bit heavy in tablet mode, but to be honest, your not gonna use that very much anyways. For video i do flip the screen and leave the keyboard facing down for airflow while laying in bed. My only bad point would be the battery, but 6 hours of video is what i get too, and thats decent. Overall, very good buy. If i can only figure out this USB-C Charging.
this or lenovo flex 3 14?
question: for daily basic use (Social media, Email, MS Office, blogging, youtube, netflix, etc) is there any benefit to me at all for upgrading the RAM? I don't really play games on my laptop and rarely have more than 1 or 2 tabs open.
This is a good review IMO, because of the cut and dry review and the feeling of a honest review. Thumbs up.
Hey TechDude, did you happen to monitor temps while running benchmark vs just casual use? I have same model: i5-7200u 8GB RAM 256GB SSD. I find temps get hot way too quickly. In casual use it's fine, but anything slightly intensive and temps jump 70-92c. That's when fan eventually kicks in. By comparison Sky Lake model Inspiron 5568 and XPS 13 9350 do not do this at all.
I bought mines from BestBuy - 7378 7th gen i7, 256ssd 12GB Ram. How much can I upgrade the ram by?
I'm looking for a beginner laptop to run adobe premiere pro, would this be good enough for video editing? looking to upgrade from just editing from my phone. thanks!
+TechDude731 my battery lasts only 5 hours and my brightness is at 10% i watch maybe 3 youtube videos but mainly browsing. Do you know any key settings i can adjust to make it longer? Atm i turned off bluetooth, gps.
+TechDude731 Could we play Nba 2k17 on this laptop (model with 8gb ram), if so on what settings
Is it possible to install another battery?
Did you find that the cooling fan was very loud and would inconsistently rev up and down?
Hello TechDude731 Expert, Does this pen ( work with Inspiron 13 7000 Series (Intel) - 7378? Can I use this pen to take a note in MS OneNote, powerpoint, Word, etc.?
OMG! stopping weaving left and right. it's casting a shadow and making me dizzy! geesh
Nice review bro. I just picked up the i7 version a few days ago. Tip for screen brightness. go to Device Manager, expand display adapter, right click on the intel HD 620, select update driver. I think it really made a difference. Do you know what the largest capacity m.2SSD drive is that we can put in these machines? I'm guessing 512gb, but when I did a system scan through crucial, it said we could install a 2.5" 1Tb drive..
Can you put 2.5" ssd in addition to M2 that come with it? It has the space but not sure the connector for additional ssd is present.
Happy new year techdude. I just bought this laptop from best buy but with 12gb ram I7 intel . Good job on the review. Do you think the 12gb ram i7 would be faster?
If ye love me, keep my commandments.John 14:15 KJVRemember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:Exodus 20:8-9 KJVSaturday is the day of the LordThe claim that Christ by his death abolished his Fathers law, is without foundation.Had it been possible for the law to be changed or set aside, then Christ need not have died to save man from the penalty of sin.The death of Christ, so far from abolishing the law, proves that it is immutable. The Son of God came to magnify the law, and make it honorable.[Isaiah 42:21.] He said, Think not that I am come to destroy the law; till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in nowise pass from the law.[Matthew 5:17, 18.] And concerning himself he declares, I delight to do thy will, O my God; yea, thy law is within my heart.[Psalm 40:8.]GC88 466.3Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJVLet us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Do you recommend this for gaming?for example ark survival

Hi, I did a reset of my computer following your guide and now when I plug in my earbuds into the audio port the sound only comes from the internal speakers and doesn't go through the ear buds. Am I missing a driver?
I have the 2 in 1 5000 Series, and I had to exchange it multiple times till I finally got one that was actually good, everything from screen bleeding issues to speakers problems, Dell lacks quality control big time, but yea now im settled on one and its a wonderful laptop.
Tally hoooooo! Still saving up for my Dell XPS 15!

I have this laptop...13.3' i7 10th Gen. 16GB RAM 512GB SSD with a magnetic stylus which is awesome. It's a great laptop for all functions and portability. I think it's a great laptop. The only downside is the sounds but it comes with wavesmax audio to tweak the sounds to get a better sound quality.
I also have this laptop and will never recommend you to buy this laptop. Laptop is heavy can not be use as tablet. battery backup poor. build quality is very poor. camera quality is also poor.
I have also this laptop
Lenovo flex 6 is 719 for 16GB model while this dell Garbage is 1100 for the same spec. go with lenovo

SCAM!!! stay away from dell if you value your sanity, terrible customer service. shipped me a faulty machine last year and have refused o replace it. the have spent a total of 3 months in the last year servicing the machine, replaced almost every component and still refuse to accept responsibility for breaching my consumer rights on the purchase of a functional system. they have caused me to fall behind on college while I wait for them to send me around in circles. its like being in a scam... STAY AWAY DELL IS CONSUMER HELL
Wow..... 96k? For that I'd buy the xps 13 2017 and save 10k...
