It's 2020. Found the same laptop at a junk shop. Paid more for the power supply than I did for the laptop. Swapped in a SSD and Linux Mint. From power on to login screen is 21 seconds. Will be adding 8GB RAM for 16GB total.

Terrible!!! I bought, in Brazil, Inspiron i15-5578. This notebook is very slow! Always loading something that I don't know why it's. When I check RESOURCES MONITOR, hard drive and CPU are always in the max! I only use kaspersky internet security, xmind and office package. If I could back in time, I didn't buy this slow notebook.
I disagree with ur video. It's a really good laptop and 15 inch screen is good for presentation considering u want a slim and sleek laptop. The only thing I wasn't satisfied with is the processor. I have i3 7th generation which makes it a bit slow. But by upgrading the ram it works just fine. Gaming is pretty good u can play gta games with lesser resolution

I disagree with the comment about the presentation space. In portrait mode, this 15" is almost exactly the size of an A4 report, perfect for reading. I agree, the screen is ok, but try the 16GB RAM and 512 GB version for 899?! I'm not sure you'll find many laptops at this price and spec. Also take a look at the power adapter, it's the size of a deck of cards and weighs less than a power block. I'm pleased with this and it replaced a pretty capable XPS 15.

Purchased two Dell laptops over the past year, one being a 15 5000, and both have bad hard drives already and won't boot. I'm spending my day off to spread the word out of concern and respect so you don't go through the same extreme frustrations I have, please don't purchase a Dell!

That's weird mined has a10th Generation Intel Core i3-10110U Processor (4MB Cache, up to 4.1 GHz and no disk drive ( I did not get it yet its coming in the mail)
Thanks Man, really appreciate the review! We almost bought this model. Unfortunately after noticing the IPS screen only produces 220 Nits and has a low color gamut made this a hard pass. Not good for working outdoors.
