Pl let us know if ram is onboard or comes as slot.The days its ram crash,you loose your motherboard if onboard.Sometimes they give distibution like (4gb onboard + 4gb extra slot).This combination must never be purchased.What you are talking abt increasing ram goes with extra slot.
