This laptop aged poorly...A better version came out like a year later with much better build quality. Now I'm stuck with 1050ti can't even play PUBG and cyberpunk...Massive regrets

I just got the g3 15 3500 today, i7 10750H, RTX2060, 16GB ram, 512GB ssd, 144Hz 300 nits, lightning port..... It's a beast, looks low key and doesn't scream gamer. Edit: no ugly stripy pattern anymore and the side bezels are half the width of the 2018 version.

I can't believe no one is talking about the hinge problem in Dell G3. Do not buy the dell g3. It has a huge design flaw. Its hinge gets easily broken after a few months and im not the only victim.And the repair is not covered in warranty. Even if you replace the whole screen the same thing repeats with the hinge.Many customers have had the same problem and its not because of tough handling its a manufacturing defect. I bought Dell g3 back in march 2020 and im still regretting it. I cannot believe Dell has not stopped manufacturing this model.

I bought the XPS 15 9570 with 6 cores and 12 threads, it's a bit overkill for my uses but I considered the g3 because it also looks like you could bring it in to the office without much looks. I carry a Latitude 7400 at work these days anyway.. but my daughter is now wanting a gaming laptop.. seems like a good buy. I know I can run Mint Linux without issue, that's exciting to me..
I got the most basic dell g3 15 and i know its meant for gaming lnfo.help/DellLaptop?iɐ However, I’m running revit, autocad, rhino, sketchup, photoshop, and 3D Max, which are architect programs that essentially are meant for designing, blueprints and rendering. The computer has not failed me yet.

Hey mate, bought the G3 aswell, i5 8300H + 1050ti. Great value system. Bought an extra 8gb stick and kingston 500gb SSD to swap out the 1tb. Also updated the wifi card to the 9560 2x2 card. Done heaps of software mods aswell. Should chat more about what else you have done and gaming benches you have recorded after upgrades. Best of luck.
My version that I bought doesn't come with hdd and only comes with the 256gb nvme ssd. I'm assuming windows has to come installed on that. So in this case can I put ssd into the 2.5 inch drive bay without installing windows on it and just boot the system up?
For gaming should I get another SSD to put in 2.5 or get a HDD (cost isn't an issue)? along with my 256 nvme m.2?
