Little bit unfortunate timing because the last 3 videos have all consecutively offered something the best that I have seen, but I can confidently say this is among the very best because it's class leading in its performance and its keyboard, and I think those 2 things make the biggest impact to the experience. One thing I'd also like to address is that I measure thermal performance not based on temperatures alone, but how many watts the CPU and GPU can dissipate. Wattage can be compared directly against any other laptop regardless of the CPU or GPU it's running, but things like clock speed and temperature (temps by itself) cannot because they depend on other variables.

Just got the asus zephyrus m15 that has the 2070 max q. Similar specs for $1379. Considering returning it for the 2070 super though in the Alienware. It costs 1,899 though!

You are the first reviewer to mention the glossy screen. Thank you! However I actually prefer the glossy screen over the matte finish. The dull haze from the matte finish drives me wild, yet you are correct that the glossy finish attract fingerprints but just turn up the brightness. Great review, thank you!

ive had this exact laptop for about 6 months and its already starting to wear out because when im playing games(fortnite) my fps will just drop from 180 to like 15-30 and its really annoying so and as you said it gets really hot and overall its not as good as it was when i first got it and im thinking of selling it for buying a gaming pc

I have this laptop with the i7-9750H and the RTX 2060. I have some comments. If your considering this laptop for playing games, it's great. It does get hot like everyone says but ATM I don't think the average user should be advise to under volt it. TBH setting the thermal setting in the control center to "cool" and power to "balanced" has allowed me to play COD:MW on everything set to the highest settings at >60 FPS and the GPU sits at a temperature of about 75 and the processor at about 85 degrees Celsius. If you're a power user a thin and light WILL run hot. Doesn't matter who makes it ATM. You can re-paste and under volt and you will gain some performance but the temperature will stay high. My honest opinion, use the settings prescribed above, use a cooling pad and play whatever games are available currently just fine. This laptop is incredible. I really like it. 1 complaint, the shiny plastic bezel is gross.

I'm looking at the same exact model except mine only comes with a GTX 1060 without the "i" . It's 1700 Canadian so the same price as the predator Helios 300 not sure which one I should go with as there's a lot of Fanboys for the Helios but I trust Dell a little more

Wish you had talk about the detail of the soldered RAM. That's a big mistake, to have an Alienware A.51 that you cannot update in such a basic matter.

The keyboard problem Dave mentioned at 4:00 is caused by Tobbi eyetracker. You can disable the eyetracker and the scroll works fine.

alienware command center is big problem for me, i setup all my games to have fan run at 100% but after few restarts the software resets all the settings. sometimes i will get a error saying it can not find my lights but after a restart it works again

What do you think of their first thin and light gaming laptop? Would you get it? The M15 is 38% lighter than the regular Alienware 15 (and has much better thermals than I expected for a thin and light).

Why not get this? It seems at this price point (£1500) it's the best option? I've been a think pad user for 15 years but now I need performance and am willing to compromise on weight and thinkpads have screwed so much over the years and it seems they and Ms surface and others are just brand over substance. This machine seems to give a lot. Even if you're not a pc Gamer (I'm not) and just looking for spec, built quality and longevity, then this seems to tick the boxes. No? If I'm wrong please tell me because I've been doing a ton of research into different machines from multiple vendors for the last month.

This is the best laptop ever I have the 2019 one it has a Intel core I7 rtx 2080ti 32g ram 2 tbssd and 144 FPS and it cost me $2649
The design of the thermal system is okay, but the screws for the heat sink are too tight, and the heat sink tends to push the thermal compounds out of the way, and then the M15 tends to get hot. Now I use thermal pads, I am not saying that thermal pad is better than paste, but that thermal pads are more consistent, and its performance does not degrade over time.
I got one and I still use it but the battery is just over an hour, does anyone with a gaming laptop also have this battery degradation problem?
I plan to save up on that laptop with 32gb, 1tb at least, 4k uhd resolution.

I want it for work, but it's about $3,120 here in AU. Can anyone recommend a good reliable laptop with lots of space, that is powerful for a budget of about $2,500. I work as a graphic designer and account manager, so I'm always juggling 20 or so internet tabs with 4-5 Adobe programs running simultaneously + whatever else I'm doing with explorer tabs and shit. I've always been comfortable with my M14 until it started to break.
I own one of these and I’ve gotta say, with a cooling pad this thing runs like a dream and I highly recommend it, you can do gaming sessions for up to 12 hours with ease, after that overheating might kick in, overall great 9/10 laptop

This guy is straight up lying, bought it on his advice and it is HOT. Did he try to use it for more than 20minutes? Did he actually try playing a game on it? Play any game for more than 5minutes and touch the area around the 9 0 i o p area, its like touching a kettle, mine had issues with hard system crashes almost immediately. Might be a good computer if you only turn it on for 30minutes a day before it overheat. Returned mine Do not buy this laptop, acer helios gives you the same specs for less money AND a better cooling system.
I also like to dual boot all my pc’s with Kali linux ?ษ no issues there either once you get the Nvidia video drivers loaded up for Linux. Little disappointed in the lack of dvd drive but not a deal breaker since it’s mostly designed for gaming
