I fast for 20 hours a day and eat for 4. Except for the hunger I find that I generally feel way better. The biggest benefit I have noticed though is the lack of laziness. I find myself completing projects I normally put off and actively looking for things to do in my downtime. It also helps control my blood sugar so for a prediabetic this is extremely helpful.
It really works. I’ve been intermittent fasting for over a year and went from 190 to 168. Combined with a ketogenic diet and moderate exercise (even just walking), the weight will just come right off.
Ive been living this way all my life. If I wake up at 9 I get hungry around 5 in the afternoon. I eat when hungry, thats it.

The term intermittent fasting is a bit of a misnomer. To fast, according to almost all medical journals the world over - you must go 24 hours or more without food. 16-8 very close to how people used to eat barely 45 years ago in the West. Get up, shower, skip breakfast (no time - lay in bed too long etc), get to school/work, grab something about 11:00, have lunch at 1:00 pm and evening meal between 6:00pm and 7:00pm. That was it. 16 hours till you eat again. No snacking because snacks were too expensive. A burger was a once or twice a year treat. Eating out was something wealthy people did. This was until the 1970's then everything started to change. Burt the main point is - going 16 hours without food (8 of which is in bed) isn't really fasting. In fact calling it fasting makes it sound drastic and perhaps hard to achieve. It isn't. It's really easy for most people to do it 5 or 6 times a week. The hardest hour is just before bed time for most. Get through that every day and you're probably good to go.

I have 2 meals a day, my first meal is between 11.00 and 13.00. second meal is between 17.00 and 19.00. Fasting between those times.
i feel like intermittent fasting for an athlete doesn't work. I feel like i need to eat a lot to keep up energy for my sport. Am I wrong or can it be done?

Excellent video 👍 thank you. IF really works. For decades I struggled with my weight and tried different types of diets inc. WW, keto, Atkinson, etc. Nothing worked. In January 2020, I weighed 208lbs when I started IF. Today. I weigh 147lbs which has been my stable weight for the last 18 months. I started with 14 hours IF then steadily increased it to 20 hours over time. IF is excellent for weight loss and management. I always do IF each week, mainly 16:8 which works for me. It’s a part of my lifestyle now. It’s no longer about diets. I make sure I exercise each week. If I put in a few pounds because of events, holidays etc I do 20:4 for about 4-5 days and eat only 1600 cals but you adjust it according to what works for you. This helps me get back on target. I feel great - in body and mind 👍
Been intermittent fasting 16-8 & 18-6 for nearly 3 months & have lost 13kg (103 to 90kg). I feel better, sleep better, eat better & it does get easy to do quickly. My Dr also took me off Metformin for type 2 diabetes as my blood sugars are back to normal ranges. Give it a try 👍
