What is the difference between a regular cctv analog camera and the HDVCVI camera? Not the DVR, I have 1200TVL cameras installed, if I get a hdcvi dvr will my existing cameras work?

Hi... can anyone help me coz the wire that need to be shorted for testing was disconnected from the camera....I mean all the cable was detached from the camera.  Can you help me where in the board lens are those wire connected?  Thnaks

More pixels = more of a chance to catch faces, license plates, name tags, etc. quite important.

how can this be an actual comparison between these DIFFERENT cameras??.. The car movement is EXACTLY the same in each "new" recording, so it looks like the video was recorded ONCE (and just played over and over again - so NOT different "takes" of the different models - in which, normally, at each time the new test recording was taken, the car would have to make a new drive-in...). Also the camera's position (and angle of view) is ALSO exactly the same, so one camera could not have been substituted for the next one in line for testing either.. Also, a 5MP camera has a 4:3 aspect ratio, while a 2MP, a 4MP and a 8MP camera has a 16:9 aspect ratio... But in all these different "trials" you show for all the above ("different") cameras, the aspect ratio remains the same (16:9) lol, which is also impossible (since when you were showing the "5 MP" view, the screen's aspect ratio WOULD have changed to 4:3, so it would look more "squared", but, it doesn't do that in your video either...). So it doesn't seem like this is an real comparison at all. :(

To identify faces in an interior of a house 2 MP is enough but if you need to identify faces or numberplates of motorcycles and cars then 0.4 is the factor to choose the camara MP. 20 meters a 8 MP is enough. FORMULA: MP= Distance [Meters] X 0.4 [factor]
