how good is the OCR character recognition, i want it to scan receipts into MS EXEL and edit the scaned texts using exel and also documents OCR for editing in Office Word. i just saw another one called Zcan also im not sure if it can do what i want before i spend lot of money importing it to south africa

The default version of the software didn't leave a scan trail when you are scanning so you are left to guess at what you've scanned, but an update appears to have fixed that. The mouse's form factor is a little clunky, but nice if you have larger hands. My company is currently evaluating this one against the Iriscan mouse and the Zscan (wifi) wireless mouse (wired available). All three mice were never meant for large posters, but we will see how far each one will go.
So, the perhaps most important special feature - text use of a scan - is unspecified. Sorry no thumbs up for that omission
Nice video but smart scan...not so nice. I have never been more frustrated with a device in my life. I needed something like this for large poster size documents I wanted to scan to a pdf in a more manageable size. I have spent hours trying to get just one scan,  ONE SCAN to be just good enough to use. No chance. I couldn't get it uninstalled fast enough. What a joke.
Unfortunately this software constantly keeps looking for updates even when you have the "settings" set to only do it manually. You are in the middle of something important, and the update screen keeps reappearing in front of you. This became so annoying that I uninstalled the software. Wish I never bought this thing, what a waste of my money. 
woww 100 dollar cash :D.... anyway this is very good production about scan tool. maybe it ll be with bluetooth, not  usb cable...

How do I get support for my Dacuda pocket scan. It's fully charged but will not connect & Dacuda's Facebook page is pretty much dormant. No phone support either. To be honest I wish I had never bought this piece if crap.
