I like how PB sounds. Rounder, more balanced tone.
The guitar is angled differently between the takes, that's going to affect the recorded sound a lot. Even a couple inches can make a huge difference.
For me, the NB works best on my grand auditorium stage guitar. The PB are too muddy and bass emphasized. Might support the full sound of a dreadnought, but on my stage guitar the NB bring out more overtones and glassy brightness which fits very well in the mix, especially for worship.

Phosphor Bronze STILL EDGE IT. Always a better base response. They just expand the wood sweeter! A more open natural sound that sits correct with my ears. Everything else always sounds off, not correct! But I will give these a try next change. Wonder if my Fishman rare Earth will pick this up more? Will be interested to hear these on my Guild M-20. A lighter take on the darker sound of mahogany maybe!
For me nickel bronze are good but phosphor bronze are nearly perfect.
Phosphor bronze is definitely a warmer sound in my opinion. Great video comparison. Particularly like that you play long snippets with variety of styles.
Interesting. I just bought a 3 pack of the exact strings in the video. The plastic bag for each set of strings looked exactly like the fake bags in the video, different from the "authentic" bag. Worried I might have fakes, I checked the D'addario play real website and all three codes checked out as authentic. So don't just go of the look of the bag, be sure to check the codes
Out of maybe 20 years using D'Addario strings I have had only one string with a flaw that caused it to break when I tuned it to pitch while restring.
Hmm, I got a packet of acoustic elixir strings not long ago and they didn't come in a box like my electric ones did. Hope I didn't get fakes.

here in philippines thousands of fake d addario guitar strings also other u.s. branded guitar strings are counterfited by the chinese - corona virus producer.several years ago when you go to store to buy a new sets of strings you have no problem about this chinese made product but now! they are all scatered everywhere almost fake ! never trust chinese product. aftter i bought it from store and put it in my guitar. the sound so terible i cant imagine how bad it sound. it kills my finger,, very hard to press down to its fingerboard and i removed it right away and throw it in the trash can

D'Addario strings come with a code which can be registered on the official brand website. It's called the players circle code and is something of a marketing strategy but does verify the strings as genuine.
Daddario strings are trash why would ya wanna copy there strings
Checking the QR code is almost a fail proof way to check it right? Lets say they get a bunch of original sets and copy the codes for themselves, you're most likely not the first person to check one of these right?

Just put fresh EJ-16 strings on my Tak EF341SC and was having issues. The sound wasn’t right. The strings had breaks in them by the bridge. After I saw this video, the MADE IN CHINA explained why my Tak sounded like crap. Fake strings! Arrrgh! Thanks for sharing this info. I need to get fresh strings. Real, this time.

If you want Cheap D'ad string find out what companies they sell strings to that repackage them and sell them as economy strings (like Hartke back in the day)
I got some strings which seemed to have all the same serial number and packaged differently from my previous Daddarios. I checked on Daddarios website and it was confirmed fake. I reported to Daddario. They didnt bother to even respond. Last time i will ever buy Daddario. I would buy cheap Alice strings. Confirmed genuine. Nobody would fake Alice strings
You know you can buy them from their website for basically the same price as amazon. Also, I can tell you they're not always vacuum sealed that tightly, unless D'addario has been selling me counterfeits from their site too.

Which string should I use for Yamaha FS80C ?
My HD28 like the EJ16s and EXP16s. It hates the nickel bronze strings though and is way to bass dominate for my tastes. My theory on strings and guitar voicing is that it needs to counter each other to balance out. The HD28 is already a warm/bass dominate guitar and warm or mellow strings like the NBs just sounds too heavy with mild mids and low pronounced trebles. Bright sounding guitar = warmer sounding strings Bass dominate sounding guitar = brighter sounding strings Just my two cents
My Alvarez md60ebg came strung up with the nb’s and I have tried to find something a little better and have not found anything I remotely like. The nb’s are a little bright out of the gate, but after a week or so of playing they really boom and project. When they go out though you definitely know it. They get very “dead” sounding and feeling. I’ve always loved D’Addario strings. Very well made products.
Great video, thank you! The Nickel Bronze are my favorite strings out of the three. I can hear more layers from each of the strings when you're playing chords. A fairly close second are the EJ16 strings, and my least favorite are the dull sounds coming from the EXP16 coated strings. They might be better suited for playing jazz standards.

I like the EJ16 but the warmth of the Bronze sounds great too depending on what you are playing and the guitar.

They all sounded exactly the same! I play electric and acoustic and I just bought the exp16 daddario for my acoustic. I haven’t put the on yet but I’m sure they will sound better than the other earthwood strings I have up there only because they are new and the earthwood Ernie ball have been on my acoustic for at least a year

Best comparison video. Alternating very cleanly played shorter clips. Perfect. Amazingly played as well. Beautiful stuff. I slightly prefer the PB, but I imagine after a few hours play they will sound much the same as the exp, and then exp will stay like that a longer time.
I like the NB best - they have a tinny, folky, homely, old school vibe - but the EXP's really surprised me. They're always described as "dead," but I actually preferred their mellower, rounder sound to the EJ16's. I'm using 80/20's, but I'll try some NB's or EXP's next time I reload.

The nickel coated don't project like the bronze, but that may not matter to you if you're amped. Another factor is that the feel of nickel strings is softer and smoother to the touch. I've been using the coated strings for years, simply because they last so long.

The sound varies from each persons music taste. I like ej16 as it is more on a rock or metal sound. But still sounds great on any song. But if your going to put it on an amp, amp controls the sound more so no problem which ever string you prefer.
Over toutube very little difference . Personally I tried nickle bronze and was impressed by the feel and treble response. These days nothing else will do .
