you did not get a "dud unit", they are all poor performers. all bx 500's suck.
how would it preform in a nas without the dram? how would it perform with something like zfs raid
so your saying the 240gb is much faster than the 120gb? I just bought a 129gb and it was only £6 more for 240gb -_-
Did you get commision from crucial for selling.
You guys are spending money on storage??? Just download some (p.s also works with RAM)
I work at a computer repair shop and we get a ton of SSD upgrade orders so at any one time we will have roughly 4-8 drives of each common capacity. In my experience with 120GB drives even with drives using DRAM cache, a good performing drive will hover around 300-400 MB/s an OK performing drive will hover between 250-350 MB/s. I really don't think you got a lemon I think you got an average or even good performing drive because having a low capacity like a 120GB will hamper performance by about 15-30%.
Love this drive, I have two 1TB models in my system, and they are fantastic. Love the speed, love the look. Great choice considering that and the price.
Does the color of the board that they use matters..?every computer boards are blue...
Is it a hard drive
For 4k Editing, would you recommend bx 500 960gb?
My case won’t come off wtf
Is MX 500 better than bx 500? I'm looking to order for my laptop and both these models are priced very close so please let me know
Love the channel thanks for these vids really help me decide on what to get
Bro i can‘t tell if he is asian or white wtf
Hello brother, i have a lenovo ideapad 310 i5 laptop.
I want to replace the HDD with 2.5inch ssd 250gb, which one should i buy, mx500 or bx 500??
I got thailand made
Don't buy this for your PS4. It's terrible.
i would buy this just to revive my ancient laptop
Would this be good for a macbook
Just bought a 240gb version for my little raven ridge laptop. Great for running it down mid in League of Legends.
Is it still good until now?
If I store windows on my SSD and games on hdd will games have fast load speeds (sorry if I seem dumb but I still didnt get a pc and trying to discover everything about pcs
Thanks for the wonderful explanation.
I have only one thing to say, I hope you don't mind me saying this. Cache is not pronounced cake, but it's pronounced cash.
Again thanks for this video, I just bought a 120 gig bx500 for my dad's core2duo machine.
Cache is pronounced like "cash" not "cake", just saying.
Can you install this on a i7 asus gaming laptop?
How durable this SSD. I mean it's a wear indicator after using it for a few months. I'm using Kingston a400 for 5 months and the SSD health already at 94% which is SSD to wear very fast considering it not actually doing something intensive.
Hello there brother 😊
If I get 256gb or 480gb variant of the same model so are there any downsides of that?
Great video man, this SSD looks great! I was wondering though, does it slow down when it gets filled up?
Just wow, this thing is underrated, I love how almost constant it is and plus a very competitive price for a 1TB SSD. I will get one for myself
Here is your treat +1 sub :))
i's cash, not cake
Replied to every question, Very nice!!
One thing to note with the Crucial BX500 1TB and 2TB models is that the SLC cache varies in size based on the amount of space remaining. So when the drive in nearly full (>80%), performance of the drive will worsen and I have found it noticeable. Sometimes write speeds drop to approximately 50MB a second with a large file transfer. This is caused by the SLC cache being exhausted meaning the write task can only continue with the QLC nand directly (which is actually much slower than TLC nand). Another thing to note that for the Crucial BX500 models up to 960GB use TLC nand and models from 1TB use QLC nand so this means that when writing large files, the smaller capacity models can perform better than the higher capacity models
SSD installation will increase chrome browsing speed?
Turn on momentum cache
It will doubled speed
Planning to order CT480BX500SSD1. Wondering what the TBW on this SSD is and how long do they typically last? Do they last longer than HDD. My 5 year old HDD died and I lost all my files.
how do you think ,upgrade ps4 pro or wait for ps5 release day
i have bought one for 89€ yesterday
Thank you, your review was helpful.
today i purchased this 1tb ssd
Great review. I bought my new Samsung 840 Evo TLC SSD in 2014 for 198$ and it still works great but i needed bigger SSD so, 6 years later i bought myself an Intel 1,2Tb 2,5" S3610 Sata SSD with only 18 hours runtime and 1Tb of data written for 114 $. It's MLC type. Awesome upgrade.
As of September 29th 2018, 480gb one is around 110aud.
which ssd do you recommend for big file write/read?
hi tech city , pleas can u tell me which one i need to buy for the windows and also games like battlefield 1 , sandisk ultra ii 240gb or crucial mx 300 , bx 200 , sandisk ssd plus , kingston uv400 , hyperx fury ?? thanks
I bought the 480gb for 349 aus dollars I am so disappointed should have gone with a Samsung Evo or pro
Hi Tech Yes City, i wanted to buy a new SSD to replace my Macbook Pro mid 2012, 13". Which one should i get for better performance and budget.
Crucial BX200, 480gb? or Sandisk SSD Plus, 480gb?
SSD PLUS de 240GB de Sandisk http://guixo.net/ssd-plus-de-240gb-de-sandisk.html
This thing is only 110 euros here.. THATS A FUCKING NO BRAINER for a 480GB ssd.. I bought it for m y steam games and shit GREAT SUCCESS
You can buy these for NZD $100 now
Good job Crucial. And SSD slower than it's predecessor at the same price.
wow, I should have watched these reviews before I bought this drive... I noticed that when I downloaded fallout 4 on the SSD, I had that same problem. I thought it was mu internet speed but I was wrong.
I'm still buying bx100 for builds and laptops upgrades, bx200 is defenitly a step in the wrong direction, the seek times get as slow as HDD sometimes
Thanks for the review. Can you test the SSD ( adata Premier SP550 240GB ) with HD tune. Hope it will keeps the high speed, instead of dropping speed with Large files, like the BX200, because i dont want to waste money on poor products
i think the preformence is great for the price now. here the 240gb model is 70 euros, the same as a 120gb samsung 850 evo.
the way he pronounces cache is killing me
I bought the drive due to the low price on Amazon right now for $65 for 240GB model. I understand the complaints but either way this is way better than a 7200RPM hard drive, which im currently using, correct?
its strange to see a nice pc on this channel , becayse most of them on this channel are shitty budget pcs XD
For $55 for 240 GB on newegg I think it's worth it :P.
whats the difference between regular ssd's and m.2 ssd's?
I'll be steering clear of this one then, thanks for the honest review Bryan....Did the volume of the vid jump @ around the 2:05 - 2:10 mark?
