Corsair Obsidian 450D PC Case
Obsidian Series 450D Mid-Tower PC Case Introduction
Corsair Obsidian 450D Mid-Tower Case Overview
Corsair Obsidian 450D Case Review
I used this case back in the days with a 980ti and i7 5960x 😄
if you build a case make one that work like i care for looks how about you making a case with all the main power that are fixed to the mainboard tray so you just play the power into the tray not go throw the tray
Why do you call a mesh a 'dustfilter'? I haven't seen any dust that's big enough to stuck in it.
I'm looking for a case with tempered glass side panel and still has 3 front bays for dvd drives or card reader. And hot swap hdd bay
Back when Linus reviewed things in his kitchen!
WIll this case take an eatx mobo?
Definitely mesh.
Is this case big enough to hold a vega 56 red dragon from powercolor that 12inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide? I have a thermaltake armor midtower and to me that case seems wider than the 450d from corsair.
I'm still running this case in 2020 I don't ever really plan to upgrade
I am preparing to build a Ryzen Matisse system using an ATX motherboard. My current system has the Corsair Obsidian 350 case and I'm spoiled by easy access to the front filter for cleaning (I live in a dusty home so it has to be done nearly weekly). I've reviewed case after case that have many things better than this case but all require removing the whole front of the case. With most being plastic and held on by plastic tabs, I'm concerned with the potential tab weakening and breakage if I'm removing it regularly to clean filters. So I'm considering buying a this Obsidian 450. It may be a 5 year old design but it makes for easy filter management. Also a lot of replacement parts available if needed.
Anyone else watching old case reviews for the heck of it?
I always have a lot of cards in my system. Having quad SLI isn't the only reason to have those slots available.
Best case ever. This case is legend.
Top mesh off. better airflow.
Good Video And Pc Tower Thank You
Why new casings have no DVD drive
Do you plug the corsair cpu AIO into the cpu fan header?
is this case still good in 2018?
Crazy how far this channel has come great content as always
A rad in the top is just BS (I own only Corsair peripherals and components where applicable for syncing of lighting and ease of use but this case needs some work). If YOU have a top mounted rad like me (it looks cleaner IMO) you CANNOT pull out the RAD without tearing apart the insides of the case and I found that annoying because I tried pulling out my H115i a few months back as I thought it was faulty (just stopped working completely and temps in the case kept rising till I MANUALLY shut off the PC for safety purposes) then one day it starts working as if NOTHING ever happened around a day before I was finally gonna tell Corsair it died these are the improvements for an UPDATE I would like to see 1) KEEP the fan mounts and add 360 rad support for the front (should be 360/280 RAD support or more in TOP AND FRONT with regular size rad's in both) 2) Increase the height, width and depth each by at least up to 1 inch (height should be utilised ABOVE MOBO for top rad, width should be used for the cable management area and depth for a little more space inside especially near the front for rad's and so on) 3) Left and FRONT tempered glass (front is for RGB fans) and the TG should be a mirrored finish like the new edition of the Corsair Crystal Series 570x RGB (has USB 3.1 gen 2 as well as the white LED logos replaced with RGB one's) 4) even with TG on the front it should be optimised for airflow somehow and have an emphasis on this for example separating the distance of front TG panel from case 5) Radiators SHOULD be easy to install in the top and should either have the slide rail system of the Corsair Concept Slate or one of those things some other manufacturers do where you mount radiators outside the case on a piece of metal which you drop in from the top 6) USB 3.1 gen 2 Type C
Best case Ive ever owned to this day. 2 years after my build in this case I was shocked my how little I had to clean inside the case! The dust management is the best Ive see in a pc. Airflow also has been amazing so really no point in ever getting another case....
I wish Corsair would bring back more of these no-nonsense cases instead of having so many in their current lineup catering to the tempered glass fad.
0:55 - Less noise, hah. After 3 years of owning the case one of the fans is noisy as fuck. Gonna need to replace it.
Also, one of the front intake fans stopped working after only one year and the exhaust fan is making a hell of a noise, especially when first started. I'm having to buy and replace all three fans now; thanks corsair
I'm getting a ton of dust buildup around the edges of the front filter. Why is the nice removable front filter not sealed around the edges? I may have to look into stuffing some kind of material around there which i'll have to replace every time i clean that filter. Boo
this case is great but why did jeff put the radiator on top, this case needs to have a 240mm rad in the front , 2 120mm fans at the bottom and one fan at the top. the way he build it you get dust + the cpu gets hotter.
It sure would be helpful if exterior dimensions were provided on your cases. Corsair is the only case manufacturer that I can find that doesn't provide this critical data.
could you plz make the concept slate an actual case that is open to the the public also could you tell me if you were on planning on doing so or not plz tell me because I would love to build a pc on that case
Is it a gaming pc
Nice case. Too bad it is not offered with a solid side panel with sound dampening.
Can it fit a gtx 1080 ti asus rog strix?
Is it possible to mount the h110 radiator to the front if the pump block is on the CPU? My research seems to indicate that mounting the radiator on the intake is better than on top(exhaust)... i am wondering at this point if the unit has long tubing enough to install the radiator in the front and i can't find that answered anywhere...
can i use h115i 2x140mm on top ? radiator
was planning on getting this but it still has the old logo why corsair this is probably more popular than the 750D airflow and that was released with the new logo but why not this
releasing this case without alumiunum would be better and make it cheaper
I will most likely be using this case for my next build. Great features for the cost.
Is an artwork
I will be using this case in my next build. The only thing I'm worried about here is where to put a 3.5" mechanical drive when I remove the drive cage. I will be populating the 5.25" bays with an optical drive and a fan controller/USB 3.0 card reader so that part is out of the question.
thank you so much, for this video :D
Does the 450D really have space for a E-ATX mobo ? (ATX is 305 mm E-ATX is 330mm) I know the tech spec for 450D says so, but I lost money on the 330R that tech spec still says can take E-ATX but it has only room for a ATX (305mm) wide mobo.
can i install e-atx 12 inch x 10.9 inch ( 30.5 cm x 27.7 cm )
would a corsair 550D hdd caddy/cage work with this case?
Does it come with a USB 3.0 motherboard connector for the front panel USB 3.0 ports? I ask this question because I own the Obsidian 650D version which didn't come with the proper USB 3.0 motherboard connector and I had to get an adapte--this stupid adapter Silverstone Tek 19 Pin USB3.0 Adapter Cable - External to Internal (CP09) to be exact--to make it work with my motherboard. See adapter here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00695M56M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (but this adapter is not longer available at amazon).
in fact the case does support EATX according to product page
If i see one on sale i may go for it !
Been searching for ages what case to get, and i think i finally found it.
you say your not going to use 90 drives XD, come to my house buddy I hate redownloading with 1Mbps
Do you need to remove the optical cage in order to fit a 360mm radiator (30mm thick) + fans in the top?
At the top, i you want to mount a 360mm radiator you need to remove the optical cage for that. What is the biggest sized radiator you can install with the optical cage still in? 240 or 280?
Quick question. What is the max length for a GPU/Video card? My card is just a little over 12" long.
Has anybody been able to successfully fit an ASUS X99-E WS Motherboard into this case, without modding, and are the optical drive bays removable?
hoping for help over here; i moved my pc into this case and the connector plugs in the case's front panel do not fit my asus board; i have a usb3 board but the case's usb3 plug is different; also the front hd audio plug is different. i need adapters? what do i ask for so i can order some? thanks
Between this and the NZXT H440, and as good as this may be for someone who wants loads of watercooling support and airflow, the H440's silence is great even using the built in hub. Also the H440 does have support for dual 360mm rads, but if I were to do watercooling straight up I would most likely choose this.
Acrylic my ass
so the bottom front fan is designed to cool the hdd's in the lower cage and the top front fan does all the inside cooling? that would be one air intake and then the rear fan for exhaust. if the top two fans are used, that's way more exhaust than intake, right? how does it work? thanks
what is the dimension of that front Mesh panel? NEED A FAST REPLY !!! Planning to buy a magnetic dust filter for it and i need it to fit perfectly inside behind that plastic mesh thing. Size: 250mm x 120mm ? Size: 458mm x 176mm? Size: 273mm x 145mm ? Size: 292mm x 151mm ?
this case is is awesome and practically dust proof which is nice, but for some reason I kind of feel like I should have gone with the define s
8:38 I thought that was Periphery - Alpha, I got really excited.
Can an h100i gtx fit in the top?
8:47 :D
I have this one and the build quality is nothing to brag about. Side panels are wobly flimsy....
I have this case. I like the airflow design and ample room for a mid-tower case. I want the front-panel gadgets and two external bays. I want the internal cage. Internal SSD storage is priced low enough to replace all hard drives, but I've planned on one largish HDD for old-time's sake. The narrator makes precisely the same complaints I would make. The case is a compromise for someone who wants a great-looking case with plenty of functionality and room for expansion, but you have to plan more carefully than with a larger case.
The case specs said it supports E-Atx, is that incorrect.
The Cooler Master V650 or V750 would work great in these cases due to the PSU's being so short.
Seems like the extra cash for the 500d is worth it
I have this case. I love its simplistic design, high airflow, magnetic filters, overall perfect size for the case. The amount of fans you can chuck in this is great. 2 to 3 at the front, two to three at the top, one at the back, 1 to 2 at the bottom. I even managed to squeeze a H105 240mm radiator at the top of this case.
Don't expect to much for 120 bucks my friend uses it and he says it's very good
I own this case and love it. Looks fantastic w/ rgb fans as well.
In my opinion this case is overpriced for todays standards #2018
I own this case. It does everything I need very well.
So this will work with the Thermaltake water 3.0 360mm riing?
Can it fit a 1080 ti asus rog strix?
but they still have no internal connectors for the front USB's , just throughput usb cables to occupy 2 usb 3 slots in the back .. ??
I haven't seen any mid towers with more than 2x USB 3.0
I have this case and it's beautiful. I managed to snag it for just $99. I have considered switching out the front mounted AF fans for SP ones as my radiator is mounted there. I could just do one, but will probably do both as I plan to switch to a 240mm radiator. However, I am torn after seeing your videos on the Crystal series cases. I agree they should have gone with the more subdued gray or black tinted glass on the the 570X. I would like to have a little more aesthetic appeal on my case,. I will just wait until hopefully they make improvements to the 570X, come out with a better model, or the price point drops on the existing Crystal Series cases. Function over form; not the other was round. I still found the videos helpful.
6:10 different cases
