It's June 2019 and I'm still loving this case. All be quiet! fans and open airflow = dead silent. plus I still want the 5.25 bay! Great video all the way back in 2011!
Where do I plug the case’s 4 pin molex to power up the fans?
Neither my motherboard nor my PSU has a 4 pin molex.
Thanks
Dude Dmitry is the best reviewer is cases i know this is dimity's voice
I have 280 radiator on top. Why you say that only 240 max radiator can be used?
Best case I have ever had, you won't go wrong with it
great video, excellent review too!
Gaah the only thing putting me off is the mesh fan thing instead of a window
This one is definitely DAM GOOD, my options are Corsair Carbide 500R, CoolerMaster CM 690 III or NZXT H440 but the last one doesn't support DVD drive... Suggestions?
Room for optical drive? Can I mount rads (H100i) on top?
so no cd player ?
You say that the top fans slots are for 140mm and 120mm. Does that mean 2 120mm or 1 140mm fan. Or do you mean 2 140mm fans.
How many fans does the fan controller support?
What color are the LEDS in the corsair 500r white?
does this case support asus rampage v ?????
So glad i got this case for 89 dollars thank you newegg! Awesome review :)
@HardwareCanucks corsair 500R vs enthoo pro ??
Am I the only one that found that video sexy?
does this available with windowed version too ?
can you mount raidiators on the inside top of the case?
:34 Are those the correct dimensions? I've checked everywhere I can find including the mfr website. They all say 8.1" across, and I was wondering about the bulges on the sides. Any other electronics' dimensions are always measured clear out to the extremes (including knobs, etc.). I ordered this case last night as was excited as my computer runs way too hot. But I only have 9 9/16" across in the area of my desk for the tower. Please tell me that's wrong, or Corsair had better start giving accurate dimensions of their case. Starting to get really sick of this computer biz altogether. Sorry for the rant, any info would be helpful, thank you!
They sure don’t make cases like these anymore! :(
Thanks. It's helpful video although I already got this case with me. If possible you may move your camera closer a bit and may lit a diffuse light to the case. The case black and we might not see the small details clearly.
I'm thinking about removing those hdd holders for better airflow.
amazing content
*Excellent* and thorough review! I think the length of the video may dissuade more viewers from watching it - but I found all the information to be useful. For future reviews that go over 6 minutes or so, I'd recommend listing key bullet-point features up front so that the viewer feels like they're getting quick tips, and they'll probably continue to watch the whole thing. In fact I'd make the title something like "[Product Name]: Quick List of Features + Detailed Review". I almost didn't watch it when I saw that it was nearly 25 minutes and it's such a good review I'm sure glad I clicked on it.
Including product close-ups as you speak would be very helpful to the viewer.
Topics worthwhile mentioning - you may want to add some to the notes.
- If one is debating between the 400R and the 500R, the fans included with the 500R more than compensate for cost, giving the 500R more bang-for-the-buck.
- The removable 3-drive cage, as illustrated in the video, can be left out permanently to accommodate graphics cards up to 452mm.
- There's an awful lot of intake fans compared to exhaust fans. If adding a Corsair Hydro series cooler (which uses another intake fan), you'd probably want to flip around some fans to make them exhaust fans, or add exhaust fans. The is standard for installing a Hydro series liquid cooler, but it's even more important with this case.
- The front panel has a switch to control fan speed speed (at least of the large side fan). This feature is not listed on Corsair's website so I can't verify this, but it was listed in another video.
- This top of the case is designed to accommodate most Corsair double-wide 240mm Hydro series radiators.
- And finally, I've read on blogs that people would like to use an Extended ATX (E-ATX) motherboard and would like to know if this case will accommodate E-ATX motherboards. From what I've read and watched, it can, but if using a double-wide (240mm) Hydro Cooler on the top, the fans have to be mounted on top of the case instead of the inside. It would be nice to post what you've heard or list blog links regarding success/failure at using E-ATX boards with this case.
Thanks again for the great video - very informative and I'll definitely use your link to place my order!
totally like the coolermaster haf 922???
Hey. I about to either buy the 400R or the 500R. What I would like to know is, can you install the top two case fans while there is a motherboard installed, or do you have to install those top two case fans before the motherboard is installed because of issues with the clearance of your screwdriver or whatever when installing them?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, absolutely. All case manufacturers should absolutely stop manufacturing variety to suit various people's desires. Because your opinion is the standard. And to think, all these years, these case manufacturers have been doing it all wrong and wasting money building cases that nobody wants, because you said so.... I bet they feel stupid as fuck right now...
nice video exactly what i was looking for.
computer case fanboy's... now i have seen everything
I'd mount an external rad than drill holes in for a shroud
@andrez94 I ended getting a 700D. lol, but didnt booted my system yet o.O
well, it's not low come on! low would be like the 430 lol, this is a medium/high case
Lol, why do you have so many toolbars on firefox?
I'm already getting this case, but your review was excellent.
Purchased it, must say, its a really awesome and classy cabinet! :) I am happy that I chose this cabinet !
found my case! the best for my (low) budget.
Loved the review. Incredibly thorough and also loved that you took fans and radiators and put them into the case to show how they fit. Also enjoyed the voice over approach to commentary on the case rather than an unsure unbox-er recording live. Instant sub.
@v1d300 For looks.
Why would anyone want to interchange the side panels?
@0peppers Well, I finally got the Arc. It's really an amazing case. So far I don't regret buying it.
@0peppers Woah, thanks for the explanations. Wasn't expecting such a description. I personally like the design of Fractal Design's Arc, simple and from what I've read the Arc is more wider than the 400R, another plus. True enough the 400 R has more 5.25 bays, but I only use a fan controller and 1 optical drive, and the last one only from time to time, so after all it all comes down to my needs, what I'd use and whatnot.
In the end I've decided to go with the Arc. Thanks again for the ideas.
@0peppers Why the 400R? Cause I'm currently down to these two, Arc Mid and 400R.
Anyone know the total width of this case counting the extra thickness of the raised sides?Really interested in this case.
Good review.. mentioning the small details like thickness limit on 240mm radiators...interchangeable side panels.. grommet durability
I would love to see a 400R or maybe even the 500R with a window (located on the angled face ahead of the side intake fans). Hope u consider this in your mod.
Is anyone able to help me? I have this case in black and the fans that come with it preinstalled wont work.
Such a shame new PC cases don’t use the massive side panel fan anymore...
It helps a ton with graphics card temps!
While I love that the design is so breathable. I did manage to spill lemonade into it once, which completely destroyed my PC.
So when you go to a LAN party and you tell your friends, IT NEEDS TO BE UNDER A TABLE. Then don't budge...
Wow I've had this thing for 5 years and never knew I could remove the cages.
Thank you for the awesome review!
Do you think this Case is loud when the PC is under heavy load? Like would you recommend putting in silent Case fans for more "silent" gaming??
So no USB ports in the back?😔
you've convinced me, I'm using this in my next pc.
Christ this case is sexy. The cable management is perfect, it has room for more fans than anyone could need. What more could you want? This is going to the top of my wishlist
is this better than the nzxt phantom?
How do you connect the front 2 fans and the side fan? I cannot figure this out.
how many usb ports are there altogether?
What heat sink is that
Next time you review a case ALWAYS show the other side of the case, the part where all the cable management is. Thats a huge factor when buying a case bro!!
Nice rew.
the side fan is actually an intake not an exhaust
a new definition of Justin Bieber
Yes yes, that radiator fits perfectly...
Really like this case but i am torn between this or the corsair storm enforcer. its my first time building a system from scratch any further advice on my decision between each case would be appreciated. thanks guys
This is what I have
