Where should I place the fans? Over the laptop vents or somewhere else,where it heats up the most?

How easy is it to mod this with your own fans when these fans eventually go out? Which they will. Can another standard PC fan screw into that clip housing and then use some kinda adapter to plug into the one USB plug?
I bought some 6 years ago the old version of this cooler (Notepal U2). The difference is very small, basicly, the fans grid and the wire support. It works great, mainly by the aluminium material and the posibility of interchanging the fans position, and it really cools! The aluminium body is resistant, but the rubber and plastic pieces are weak and breakes with the time (I saw the rubber pieces were modified, probably it is not a problem now). Moreover, you have to care of wires and to try not to leave them hanging; as they do not rest on any physical support, they can break easily. Fortunately, if fans or its boxes break and become useless, you can attach common 8 mm fans to the cooler body using screws.

lol my laptop was never more than 55 but i still need more cooling because of high specs and hardcore gaming.

I like this cooler. Now my laptop never goes above 65c. Its always in the 40-50c range. which isnt horrible

i have a laptop sony vaio with the same specs and i cant get my laptop cpu more that 74c and gpu more than 70. and also i overclock my gpu to 555/800. and i dont have a cooler. i want to buy this one because in summer i cant take it. Also is this notepal good to take my laptop on me? or it will be uncomfortable? I think you need to clean the dust simetimes
my laptop: HP pavilion g6 2026 tx when using web, media,: 55-60*C when play games borderlands 2, batman, all high setting: 80*C and now, after 2 years, it's VGA amd radeon 7670M was broken! laptop for gaming is very bad idea! if you want gaming, build a PC!
Does this work for PS4
 I bought Cooler Master Notepal U2 PLUS Notebook Cooler wich manufacturer say is much more efficient than the U2 is, but after 2 months of use one of fans starting making noice, sending vibration to the pad and heating a lot. I had too stop using fans, and after reading some opinions over the net this is not a random problem, many people has had same kind of problems with it. clearly I don't recommend this product.

That doesn´t extend your laptop life at all. Everything over 55 is bad, over 60 is very bad and over 65 is, well: "oh you bought a new laptop already, wasn´t your old one just a year old?"  Anyway, just cut the blue wire to your actual laptop fan, if you have a second one for the GPU, cut that too. Over 10C lower temps GUARANTEED. (Downside: noise, however you could put a switch between to turn off the noise if you are watching a movie for example) Then the second tweak which is a bit more advanced, however also free and in these days quite easy with the right software: undervolting. Just Google undervolting to read about it and find what software works for your laptop brand, almost every AMD board are "undervoltable" with AMD Overdrive or my favorite: phenom msr tweaker. Another 10C off. My 3 year old overclocked laptop is running like a charm at ~35C idle and ~50 while gaming, it´s a middle class laptop from 2010 that runs battlefield 3 with 50 fps.

wait does it blow air toward the laptop or pull air out of the laptop, cuz i have a Toshiba and the fans are pulling air out of the laptop will this effect it?
get the u1. it's smaller and made for netbooks.
Would you suggest this for an 11 inch, specifically an Alienware M11x R3? Will the rubber grips help in that case?

When I play minecraft , my laptop hits 90-100 degrees. After buying the cooler , the temperature is below 85 most of the time . Don't know about yours , though

Guys, I just got this. It seems to work well, but be warned - it's much higher than I anticipated. The keyboard will be placed in a different angle than before. It's not really a problem, just looks different and takes some getting used to.

Do the plastics things which held the fans in place, touch your laptop? I can see them stick through the wholes and i don't want them to damage my laptop.

I use 3 of these, they are black I did not hook up the fans. They are great for cooling and lifting the back of the laptop up for better typing.
