I appreciate this review. I received this duo as a Christmas gift and I was worried that I applied it wrong. I applied lipgloss before the balm and I didn't see much color. "Almost" lipstick 💡🤔.

This itemI also purchased it's nota lipstick or a lipglossit's definatly a lip-balm, does look vampy in the tube, but I love it an know the sheer effects, I can build it up in layers, in fact I'm wearing it now, best part, the smell
This was one of the few items I got when I was 14 & a sophomore in HS my mom lovingly convinced me I might want to get a bit of makeup for my first semi-formal dance; I'm now 35 so we're talking 20+ yrs ago! I was not too into makeup @ the time...a combo of a naturally active/ low maintenance gal who was a swimmer & runner but was also did a theater so thus wrongly thought that stage makeup was what all makeup would be. I didn't fully jump on the makeup train at the time but did fall in love w/ & use up (several times over!) the two almost lipsticks I came home with, one being the infamous black honey! I don't currently purchase from Clinique as I only but cruelty free but if they ever change in that regard I'll definitely pick up a new one of these. It's always neat to see what stands the test of time....thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Black Honey started out as a pot gloss before it became an Almost Lipstick. I've been buying and wearing it for decades, from the beginning pot gloss.
Please show a swatch on the back of your hand because your natural lip shade affects how it looks on the lip and doesn't correctly represent the shade of the product itself... And I can say this because I've owned this product in the past and know that both the shade of the lipstick itself and the shade when applied on my lips are different from yours.
Please do a review on Mac Pro longwear foundation!

Great demo Dawn! Beautiful colors. I use to love the Honey lipstick. Is Clinique clean now?!?! So many companies have reformulated, it's hard to keep up! I wore nothing but Clinique from the time I was 16 (when my mom took me to the counter to buy my first makeup set) through all of college. Many fond memories! ❤

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! I have very pale, warm-toned skin and asymmetrical lips so most lipsticks look too harsh on me. Black Honey is dark and rich without being clown-y, and I LOVE how it layers with lipstains!! So far my fave combos are Black Honey over Benetint or Black Honey over Revlon's Just Bitten in Flame.

Oh, I LOVE Black Honey! I love how it's a real on-for-all lippy, not just with skin colour, but also with what it goes with. I love how it's subtle, yet noticeable. I've been using this lippy since I must have been fourteen and JUST getting into makeup. I don't know if this is true, but I've been told that this product was also used for Liv Tyler in Lord of the Rings.
@darbygirl03 Hi. I got the pink fizz 143. And the taste is really diferent from the first one i bought . They might have change it because this one is like new shades that came out.

Great review. The colour really looks dark . I bought the colour sensation lipstick again and you are right the taste is diferent from the one i bought 2 years ago. I don't know if my one was not good or if they changed the taste.
This is one of my favs. I must admit that I was a little scared when the clinique lady showed it 2me but after I tried it I was hooked. I also like their lipstick in bamboo pink. Great review :)
