Just found this review, I've happily used a P1 and G1 together live for the past 5yrs. Perfect for a covers band playing Classic Rock, Folk, and even Prog
As always, your reviews are top rate. Thanks for showing us a little known product. I just found a used one at a local music store.
The XW-P1 was discontinued last year, a seven year run. Not bad. I was hoping to snag one at a great deal when discontinued, but there were no blowout sales. Used examples seem to be holding their value.
Now after so many months of quarantine I'm doing the deep dive on sonicstate apparently...
There are two brands I would never go on stage with: Behringer and Casio.
Casio, please re-envision your Casio's phase distortion synthesis out of the CZ series, you have know idea what you're sitting on. Like many have said, it would bring Casio back into bigger leagues (no-offence, I love old casio's lol). Wavestation to Wavestate; Cz3000/5000 to maybe CZ 2.0, or CZ-Lab, CZ - Phase Distortion Pro. DX7, what's that again (you're ok too, but not capable of CZ sounds!)? (lol, creative Dissent! lo)l) Seriously the Cz', the 101 to of course, go up in price every year, people buy half broken ones The 4 digit larger ones in particular are like a sound laboratory. Do Companies ever listen to their customers? Probably not.
I am wondering if the layers can have different editing values each, to have whirling, pulsating sounds. Thanks.
what is the model of that small keyboard i remember that playing it from my cousin in the 80s
Best review still.
looks f*ing dope
So much info in sych a small space - amazing!
8:53 > 9:20 pure Aphex Twin!!!
"Performance-oriented", but no aftertouch... ლ(◔︵◔ლ)?
Looking at one for $200.
Came here to see what it does.
$200 is a steal, so I will ask my wife if we can steal it.
LOLZ, I am retired but she still works.
I'm not all that enthusiastic about this thing as a synth, but that drawbar organ emulator is IMPRESSIVE for the price. Casio also put it in the CTK and WK lines, and I'm somewhat perplexed that the big expensive Privia series doesn't include it... The emulation isn't perfect (tonewheel "fold" - lack thereof - sounds wrong at the top of the keyboard when you have the high drawbars out, there doesn't seem to be a way to control the loudness of the percussive tone, and its onboard rotary effect is pitiful) but it is certainly good enough. All you need is a passive volume pedal and an outboard Leslie effect, and you've got yourself a decent sounding organ at a fraction of the price of the next-lowest competitor.
Don't ever let reviewers put you off. If it sounds good and does what you want. That goes for brands too. For the price and what it can do, I had to buy one. I don't regret it. the only thing is that the keys are very flimsy and have a cheap plastically feel.but what do you expect from a budget board. I love this review. excelkent.
Just too many synth snobs and perfectionists. look beyond the brand name. I have so many synths I've lost count, some classics too. But I don't want to sound the same as everyone else, the Dx7, M1, D50. Good to see we moving away from this. I really like this SYNTH. Just added one to my collection. A Synthesizer is only as good as it's user. For the money. you can't go wrong. it does everything. I'd be happy to use one on stage, so versatile. I'm far from an expert, but I'm going to have a lot of fun with mine, and isn't that why we play Synths? A great sketch pad too. Great sounds. I am buying overlooked and underrated old synths now while cheap, even the Casio CZ range is still very usable, their amazing. it;s not the brand or looks what count, it's what's inside. I just love synths and music and making sounds. You may covert your Moogs, and what ever, they're great, but an Elka Synthex would blow them out of the water. For me anyway. Cheap doesn't always mean bad.
Boy that's one ugly synthesizer!!
Step 1: Add "sonicstate" to the end of every synth name you Google
Step 2: Profit
So Young Here :)

*Casio, come back with new version of that great synth! Real-time, smooth filter control, sturdy build and keybed, will be enough to convince many demanding users and professionals!*
*2020 and I love that synth!*
Nice! Now that is something I can actually use.
You can change the sound using a pedal??
It's possible??
regret buying this one, sold last week for 120 euro's.
How do you connect speakers to it ?
It's obvious that the AIX Sound Source was developed, at least in part, from this.
Nice sounds and all that but I just don’t like the label ‘CASIO’ sounds too ‘toy play’ to me!
I got the WK-7600 it is a great Maschine too.
Yes you have no touch color Display but you can save 2000$ !
Sounds so good....... is it analog and sampled? Awesome....
I bought a Roland VR-09 Combo Organ (Keyboard) because I could not afford the Hammond SK-1 76 note keyboard. What sold me on the Roland VR-09, was the D-Beam as no one has it. It has great on organ, but I hate that it only has 61 notes. I wished that I would had bought this Casio XW-P1, as it cost much less. I was very impressed with the arpeggiator as my Roland VR-09 does not have an arpeggiator. I also bought a Yamaha MODX8, because it weighs so much less than my old Yamaha P-200 stage digital piano. It is awesome, as I mostly bought for the grand piano sampling was great, and very light weight, I have much to learn about my new Yamaha MODX8.
These are 200 quid on the second hand market , absolute bargain , I might need to sell some gear
good evening I apologize, can you tell me if the sounds of casio xw-g1 are the same as those of casio xw-p1? thank you
AMAZING
Sounds great for the price...and for it being a Casio!
I agree, it sounded as good as a modern Roland or Kurzweil. Yes, the build is cheaper plastic but about $2000 less. And it's so much easier to move, as it's light. For the money, nothing can beat it. I find it much easier to program than the others, too....
11:39 - Nothing can doom this groove.
wwe
Sounds better than Yamaha and Roland and Korg.
Does this have internal speakers? Thanks.
He got soul
Im kinda late here but this video should have been a whole longer than 3:55 specially with a great representative like Jeffrey Dunmire !!!
Quero um de presente kkkk alguém mim da ???
is there roland tb 303 sounds in this one like the xwg1 ?
do professionals use it
I bet the dude can shred. Nice board. Want.
Oh sorry... i understand... i can change many things in this model. The layers are fantastic! And here the "Draw Bars" sliders work for other things. And this model dont have a speaker. This is a synth, the other is some beetwen a synth and a common keyboard.
Please, what is the difference beetwen this model and the WK7500 and CTK7000? Thanks.
