I listen to al lot of blues, (hard) rock,pop, music, mostley flac . I wanna bij these speakers for my bedroom (12m2) to listen some music and to amplify my tv. Do you recommend them ?
I like them a lot but I have muscular dystrophy, I am unable to raise my arms or use the remote control, and the volume dial seems digital, it makes me wonder if I need to turn it on every time I want to use them. The speakers I currently use, I keep them on with the analog dial and control the volume with windows10 and turn them off directly with the UPS to cut off their power so I don't need to touch the dial again to turn the speakers on again. I don't need them on while I sleep. Could I do the same with the Edifier s880db? they reset the volume when the power goes out :( sadly i need an analog switch.
I own a S880DB. It's a good deal. I bought it for 223€ in the Netherlands. Pro's: - It are perfect speakers with bluetooth and the common connectors you need (RCA, optical, excludes connector for DJ's). I am using the treble, bass, etc in neutral. - This speaker is Hi-Res (XMOS DAC) when using USB (Windows and Mac supported). - Bluetooth is not in Hi-res Cons: - The remote control. While the remote is round, the usability is awful. When you catch the remote control you have first to look which site is the upper (remote sensor). - There is a Dynamic, Monitoring, Vocal and Classic mode. The difference between these modes on the remote control are neglible. - And yes I can hear the hiss non 20 cm distance. On further distance it is not notices.

I liked watching your scientific method of testing these speakers. You did mention that you do get a bit of hissing from these new speakers. Is that at all volume ranges? Also, bummer on that rattling sound from the one speaker. Keep these audio videos coming. One last question bloke. Do you use any type of FLAC or ALAC files for a fuller sound range?

Also be careful what you wish for. Your quest will be expensive! Manufacturers put every penny into being louder and having wider frequency response, so they ignore internal noise on "budget" speakers, you know, under ~$500 per individual speaker. I had Genelec 8040 monitors, they sounded amazing, and only had the faintest hiss when ear is next to speaker. But they are expensive. Don't listen to them if you can't afford them, because they will reveal the weaknesses of lesser speakers!
Can you try a REAL studio monitor next? Please?? Plug and play consumer stuff has it's limits! Maybe try one with a ribbon tweeter? The Adam brand is highly regarded. Taking time to visit a music/ audio store where you can demo them will be hugely valuable! I think Pro is the way to go; consumer stuff will always have compromises, as you are finding out. Another thing: cables can pick up some noise, so the perfect setup has "balanced" audio cables (XLR) to eliminate noise from the cables. But this requires a DAC with XLR output. (Maybe the noise you heard from the headphone output was noise picked up by the cable? Try moving away from all other electronics and testing speakers again.)

I reckon thats T2 crap it does play nice with some hardware. Can you change the buffer in final cut Pro? I know I had those issues in Premiere. I changed the buffer size to 512 and it stopped. I think the low noise thing is nothing to worry about in the real world. I think thats because it's trying to simulate a sub at those low levels. But audio never stays that low for that long. Try Yamaha HS5 if your worried about audio being accurate

I am seriously considering these speakers but since it's been over a year since you posted your review, I thought I should ask if you have come across better bluetooth floor speakers in the meantime before I take the dive.
