This is a great overall super zoom camera that I can recommend for a point and shoot! Get it here it normal that my camera (the same) shuts off in the video mode after 16 minutes of recording (that is: 3,99 GB)? The memory card is much larger than 3,99 GB.

So overrated zoom any zooom cam is to overrated. My spotting scope 60x is can see one star so dam close and moon much clearer brighter and farther then super zoom cam. Yes I tested guys my canon sx60 zoom at 10x vs bushnell 15 dollar bincoular doesn't matter any 10x, you can see the moon larger and closer on the scope Stop fooling yourself

It's a super camera! I can make a suggestion about the 'small buttons'. I glued tiny bindis onto some of my buttons - it makes pressing them easier and you can find them by touch which is useful when you need to keep your eye on the bird which is what I use mine for. It's a lovely camera and there is now a hack available called the Canon Hack Development Kit which allows you to upgrade many of the functions. I love this camera!

Bless you for saying nice things about my darling camera - so many people have said so many negative things about it. The trick is - DOWNLOAD YOUR MANUAL, PRINT IT OUT AND STUDY IT! Then learn about the basic principles of photography. The camera has limitations - learn how to circumvent them. Be a thinking photographer.

It's a wonderful camera. Especially with CHDK installed on it you can do a lot of timelapses and long exposures. The one gripe i always had with this is in fact the autofocus. It's ok-ish at daytime but horrendous in the dark. I bought it originally thinking i could fully use the manual shooting mode. but i found out the hard way that Canon took the liberty of adding a few artificial limitations to limit the exposure time to 15 sec @ 100 ISO. I wasn't happy with this limitation BUT CHDK took care of this once and for all.

I also would suggest you can use the SX60 as a B camera, secondary filming at the same time from a different angle. Then, you could patch it together in Gimp, for example. It gives videos a more cinematic feel.

Hello. I have a problem with the focus of this camera. It does not focus if I do not zoom in a bit, so if I am very close to a person, I want to take a picture but I do not want to zoom it does not focus. The same happens in video does not focus if I do not zoom. Is it normal for this to happen in this camera?
Hate to keep seeing uninformed people give out the wrong advice and it seems you've fallen prey to that. This is definitely not a vlog or YouTube camera. It has a very small sensor that makes it inefficient in low light situations, particularly indoors. The quality is not any different and possibly worst than most modern smartphone cameras. However, it does have full manual control, including ISO, shutter speed, aperture and can shoot in RAW, so it's still quite good for most photography. It's primary use though is its super zoom lens, which many use for outdoor wildlife photography and videography (e.g. zooming into birds). I would only buy this camera if you know what its purpose is for, and it is absolutely not for vlogging or making YouTube videos. Your smartphone will likely be better. Get a camera that has at least a Micro Four Thirds sensor.

I almost never use a lens cap. For $20 you can buy a 67mm uv filter, and adapter. The filter will protect your lens. was searching for a review for a cheap electronic and was expecting some Indian guy with an accent, but then I stumbled on this goddess. Well, superzooms are better for taking pictures of birds and wild life on a budget, for making videos many cellphones will have a better quality nowadays, like the newer Galaxy, Huawei, Iphone.
