Can you make a review comparing features, video and stills quality for: - Canon Powershot G3 X (it's a mark II is coming?) - Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 mark II / Leica V-Lux 5 - Panasonic Lumix FZ2000/2500 (3000/3500 soon?) - Sony RX10 Mark IV (Mark V soon?) Do you know if other companies like Nikon will upgrade their offer with cameras in the same range? Like a Nikon Coolpix CX (1" sensor), or a coolpix B800 CX sensor? Great video, very informative. I mainly shoot birds and currently have a Canon SX40 with an 800mm zoom, so if I switch to the G3X, I'll actually lose reach :-\ But I like the larger sensor (1" compared to my tiny 1/2.3"). Is there anything out there that you know of with a 1" sensor and an 800mm zoom? That would be the perfect camera for me.
Any video recording limit? Unlimited Minutes of recording?

The absence of EVF is problematic for people who don't want to buy more accessories but the a bridge itself with all the specs. Hope the Mark II will have a EVF, 4K, fully articulated touchscreen, a better and fast lens if possible.... Canon has interesting rivals in this category: 1" sensor bridge superzoom Like FZ1000 M2 V-Lux 5 FZ2500/2000 RX10 M4 The RX10 M4 is definitely the king of this category: 315 points Phase-detection AF, 25 points Contrast-detection AF, 24 fps burst rate, 4K ... Too bad Nikon cancelled the DL24-500, the specs were interesting as well: https://youtu.be/PYsg9rmVceI For people arguing those cameras too big, or not too compact... I learned digital photography using a Canon bridge and I moved to a Canon DSLR + Lenses. Bridge cameras have their place for people who want to jump slowly in photography. The lessons I've learned with the bridge were very useful. A bridge offers you DSLR/Mirroless functionalities. It helps a lot.

for bird shooting make sure there is enough light, lol, most birds only fly around in good light, unless you are taking snaps of owls or bats. ha ha. most of my photos were taking with a tiny sensor Superzoom in good light

I just got this camera and I cant find alot of the settings you are showing. Atleast from the page 3-4 in the image settings. Did check for new updates on the web but could not find any and a factory reset. Any tips? :)

good review - the Sony only has 200mm F2.8 - the Panasonic FZ1000 has 400mm F2.8-4.0 the Sony RX10/m2 is very expensive compared to the Panasonic and the GX3 - The GX8 is the most compact of the three - So there is a give and take - the GX3 has 600mm Panasonic FZ1000 400mm and Sony only 200mm - I have the GX3 - and the EVF - the EVF is not costly and is quite good - I disagree - I got my GX3 and EVF for quite a bit less then the RX10 - yes I hope they put an EVF built in for next update - improved menu - more features -

There is no way this camera with that giant fixed lens is a "pocket camera," unless your "pocket" is a large bag.
Very well done video! The more I see from this cam (especially the wildlife images), the more likely I am to purchase it. It should be great for my hiking/backpacking/kayaking adventures.

The only thing that puts me off this camera is the lack of a viewfinder - do you find it an issue at all or is it something that you can get used to?

600mm equivalent image stabilized lens, weather sealing and fairly tough with a 1 inch sensor. Just to get the equivalent lens for an apsc camera would cost more than this g3x. You'd need a 400mm is lens " check price" Ok no evf, if you are using on a tripod at extreme angles then an evf or optical viewfinder is useless anyway, unless you want to lie down and take photo's, an articulated screen is what you want. By omitting the evf they've reduced the size, this will annoy some buyers but not all. At the end of the day if you can cope without an evf and want something with these features that can fit in a small bag, go for it.. I have one and love it

Hey Nate, thanks for making this video. I've been browsing around for a new camera lately and I'm pretty much tempted to go for the G3X over the G7X Mark II. Your video is the only one I found that actually gave me the best idea of the camera.
Does it zoom digitally or optically? Does the image quality degrade when it zoom?
Thanks for pointing out it can shoot a still during a video, I use an M3 for most of my videos and in love with that option, I would get the G3x to have the added option of zoom without having to change lenses when time is not on your side, Amazon Uk are doing it at £499 and with canon £40 cashback its looking attractive

still don't know if i want this or the gX7 mark II. i'm a photographer and videographer. i have DSLR but am looking for something to carry on me. been using iPhone 6 and love it but either this or GX7. not sure. i love how this has the mic input but GX7 does not. GX7 mark ii goes to aperture 1.8 though. hmmmmm
