I got this lens as my kit lens with a 7DII, it was cheaper with the lens from Wex than without it from Jessops. I'm not a lover of any zoom lens that has such a large range from wide to medium/long telephoto. I have the Canon L 16-35 f4 IS, Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC and Canon L 70-200 f4, so I have the range covered by much better glass. But my usual lenses on my cropped sensor are my Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or Sigma 150-600 Sport, as I'm usually photographing landscapes or wildlife. My other digital cameras are 5DII and 5DIII so it doesn't fit on them, nor does it fit on any of my 35mm Canons. That means I have a practically unused lens on my shelf that I won't part with because "I might use it one day". Why can't Canon make their lenses like third party lenses, where, like the Sigma 18-35, the lenses are made for cropped sensors but you can fit them on full frame cameras with a limited range? If they did I would then put this lens on a 35mm and then carry it with me while I'm using my digital for if I saw an image suitable for B&W film. A brilliant review with balanced options, I don't do any videoing but I always enjoy hearing the views of someone who does.
The Signma alternative is not an alternative because it doesn't give me what I want from the Canon i.e. ability to shoot various shots without having to switch lenses. I used a 18-55 mm kit lens and 55 -250mm lens often switching between the two. Having seen an STM at work, I was convinced. This 18-135 STM performed better than the older USM from another similar range canon lens when I tested in Jessops. My only observation and retisence is the barrel distortion. I don't remember seeing it on the 55-250 STM but I will look more carefully at my photos to check. Thanks for pointing out the flaws.

Will any lens fit the 760d? Its for myself because im gonna get it and also is the screen while open taking more battery?
I use a 760d. Only use STM lenses. ! The standard kit zoom and 75 to 300 do not do the camera any justice. They are blurred. This camera is very good for Astrophotography and telescope photography. Video isn't good. Low resolution and awkward to use.
