I'm pretty sure Nikon colors are warmer and not cooler dude. Canon has the most coolest color tones compared to Fujifilm, Sony and Nikon. Making skin tones looking pale if you directly compare. Check out Tony Northrup's explanation on "Color Science".
Would you go with the 5d over the R6?
I much appreciate the broad coverage of the strengths and weaknesses of the 5D4. I appreciate the info on the video quality in 1080p. This accords with my own experience. I haven't even tried 4K, as I've had no demand from my clients. The 1080 videos I've shot look great!And I love shooting with it as a stills camera, for many of the reasons you mention, esp the great color. I also find the files, esp when I shoot at fairly low ISO's, to be very nice to edit, with good latitude for rolling back shadows. Highlightsgotta be careful there. The Sonys and newer Nikons may be somewhat better in these categories, but the 5D4 does very well, IMHO. I love it for astrophotography also. With my Rokinon 20mm f/1.8, in a dark sky area, it can do a spectacular photo of the Milky Way.

Sam Abell uses one, and he knows whats up when it comes to photography. That being said, this camera is huge

Agree the Nikon ergonomic's are so complicated. Canon custom feature and ergonomic's are superior by far. The flash menu for Nikon bodies are buried and you have to hold one button while adjusting another. And Canon's are just one button away and you choose the button or buttons for many optional buttons,dials or switches.Canon's flash exposure and ambient exposure are controlled seperately. And the newest 600 ex rt and 430 ex rt iii can both be used as a master or slave in multi flash set ups plus remote triggered and set up from your cameras LCD or LCD on the new ex rt3 remote trigger. So simple it's almost scary. All auto focus points available at f8 even when using 1.4 tele extender iii or the 2x iii with super telephoto or most Canon lenses.
This is a pro grade camera. The sensor digic 6+ is the same one that's in the 1dx miii. Just has more megapixels so a little loss in light gathering resulting in loss of image detail capture, more noise and lower dynamic range. But the more pixels in a given area means more pixels on your subject say a bird. And when cropped or magnified the sharper your image would appear.Of course the newer the sensor, the pixel pitch, photosite area and the smaller the pixel density the better the image processing. With such an improvement over the rest of the 5d series. The pixel pitch comparison is as follows. The original 5d digic ii sensor and a 8.2 pixel pitch.The 5d mii has 6.41 pixel pitch on a digic 4 sensor, The 5d miii has 6.25 microns pixel pitch on digic 5+ sensor , 5 Dsr has a 4.14 micron pixel pitch on dual digic 6 sensors.5d miv pixel pich is 5.36um on dual digic6+ sensor.

I am upgrading from the 5d3. Im hoping for better high ISO results than the 5d3. I hesitated to shoot over 4000 at the hockey rink which didnt leave me with a very quick shutter speed. That was generally at F4 with my 70-200 F2.8 L or 100-400. Will the 5d4 allow me to shoot at maybe 6000 or higher so I can get my shutter speed up for hockey action shots/

Nice video you've put together. I am waiting for my new 5D Mark IV to be shipped to me. Have had the 5D Mark II for about 8 years, which I use with the EF 24-70mm F/4.0L IS USM. Just something to bear in mind, if Canon had built an articulated rear screen into the camera, I doubt that the weather sealing would have been rated to the same high standard. I personally am not too fussed that it does not have this. You can always use your smartphone or a small tablet to cast the screen to such devices. Agreed about the 4K. Probably sensible to transcode the resulting MotionJPEG files to h.264. I'm going to add the C-log upgrade on mine for post grading 4K footage. One last thing, I know this means extra expendature but investing in a Canon EF 16-35mm F/4.0L IS USM (or a similar Canon EF mount lens from another brand) would give you around a 26mm field of view for 4K filming.
