I think its not widest at 10mm I had real using and feel it go wide at only 11mm then I notice that when we turn zoom to 10 its stop at half btw 10 and 12
I have this lens and works well on my 60d. The rubber coating on the focus ring has already peeled and bared it's plastic base material.

You can clearly see that this lens at 10mm is very very soft on the left side. You showed the right corned which is quite OK.

good tip about the ASP-H sensor people. i feel really bad for them sometimes bc they can generally only use canon's EF lenses when it comes to the brand name.
I bought this lens in 2005 when I bought my Canon 20D. It was perfect for shooting Yosemite National park. I still get a lot of use out of it in 2019. I'm using it now on a Canon 60/80D. On a APS/C camera it is the equivalent of 16-35. At a low ISO and an F/stop around 8 to 11 it still makes a great picture.
If I were to upgrade from this lens? What is the next best ultra wide angle lens?
does it have image stabilization?

Can someone help me as to explain ef-s and ef lenses? So I have a apsc T4i and if I use a Ef-s lens shouldn’t a 10mm actually be viewed as 10mm and not 16mm. Thought if I used a 10mm EF lens it would be zoomed in 1.6x.

I just want a good lense for full body portraits in tight spaces.
I have this lens and I've loved it for almost 10 years. I bought it when I was using a crop sensor camera, so I can assume that for this lens, 10mm is actually 10mm, since there is no conversion factor for an EFS lens on a crop sensor body. However, now I'm using this lens on a full-frame body. If you multiply a full frame lens by 1.6x when on a crop sensor body, what is the inverse multiplication factor for a crop sensor lens on a full-frame body? Is 10mm much too wide? Should I stick with this lens or go for one dedicated to full frame?

I shot 90% of my vlogs with this lens on my Canon 80D. Here’s my question, I want to buy the new Peter McKinnon Polar Pro lens filter! I heard you mentioned that you used an ND Fliter on your 10-22. I want to know if you get vignetting when using 10mm while shooting video or photo?

I thanked my lucky stars that you are from Brisbane and not Cairns or above. (It would have take 50% longer for the northern Banana Benders to say the exact same words!) But "bravo" for the great explanation. Enjoyed the presentation as I have just bought one of my own for the exact same reasons you did, and I was also tossing up with the 10 -18 mm STM. I am now really pleased I went for the 10 - 22 mm USM. Again, thanks mate. Enjoy Bali and don't get a dose of the belly!

Josh, have you seen the website ? i forget which YouTuber i saw talking about it, but basically you go to the site, use a drop-down menu to select what kind of camera you use and what sort of stuff you usually shoot, and then they give you hundreds of photos and you pick 20 you really like and could see yourself taking, and based on that, the site provides 2 different options for lenses that may suit your needs. i haven’t purchased any lenses based off that yet, but it’s still been a pretty cool process to see what it suggests.
Great lens, I have the 10-18 as well but I prefer using 10-22 for photography
I have Canon ef-s 10-18mm lens, it is basically my favorite lens that I carry with me when I go taking photos beside 50mm. Also I like the way u taking shots, you really have excellent point of view
It's great to see someone shooting with less expensive gear and focusing on the experience instead of specs. I use the ef-s 10-18 for wide angle shots in general but I also have the samyang 14 mm 2.8 manual focus. I tend to miss focus alot on 2.8 though. Looking forward to see more content from you, keep it up!
