Thank you for the review. I love this lens! Months ago I traded in for the version III and decided I didn't need to spend the extra cash, so I came back to the version II. The ASC on the rear element of the version III really does improve ghosting and flaring but for my needs it wasn't an issue, so it came down to 'do I like the brighter white paint better?' :-) Great video!

It's no different to my kit lens
Crop sensor doesn't give you more focal length, just narrower field of view. That said though I do find this lens more useful on APS-C because of that. It's great slapped on a 7D Mark II

is the image stabilization to noise and annoying?
i own the 1st version of this lens with no IS,i don't use it that much these days!its vary sharp and fast,the photos i get from this lens are wonderful considering its age!my only problem i ever had was its just to heavy to lug around most of the time,and never liked the white color!every buddy and there bother sees you shooting with this lens,those are its big draw backs!color and weight.
should I buy the canon 70-200 mk I or the tamron newer vc version

I just bought this lens on the internet. I buy it from a photographer who is leaving Canon and going to Sony. :-( I bought my Canon EOS 6D Mark II 2 years ago. I'm the owner of a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM, but the bokeh is nicer in the 70-200mm f/2.8lens. Am I right?

Nice video Douglas. I get the feeling your impressed with this lens.! I'm a keen amateur and have the 70-200 f/4 IS which I purchased used for £750 some years back as well as a few other used Canon L lenses. My 70-200 f/4 IS my favourite lens of them all, pin sharpsome say slightly better than the f/2.8 IS. Its lighter to carry and cheaper to buy, so for me I wouldn't change it for the f/2.8 for the smoother Bokeh and its lower light capabilities. Its produced some of my best pictures. Check it out if you havn't already. Keep up the good work.!
