I have this lens and i love it's personality. The bokeh, the lens flare! It's softness at 1.8.
I want to start off by saying this was my first non-kit digital camera lens ever, and I've probably taken more pictures with it than with any other lens, so I do have love for it. That being said, to call this lens sharp at f/1.8. The bar for what we consider "sharp," has certainly been raised over time.
Do you need an adapter to use it on a crop sensor ?

Hi, could you overlay an absolutely straight frame on the picture @6:25 currently I cant see the distortion because the lines start dancing when I try to analyse the picture. For the rest it is a great review keep it going.
This is a very clinical review, there is no artistry or artistic flare. The only image in the video that is interesting to look at is one of the ones you said is not all that good.

Would you say this is worth picking up for £50 on ebay instead of paying £110 for the STM version? I'm only looking to take stills and currently I only have a kit lens. Thanks

Purple fringe and ghosting like crazy are my biggest complaints. With this lens. Oh and it's way to narrow for most uses on a crop sensor. I wish I got a 24mm instead.
