Does this lens compatible with Canon M50 with adapter? How is the quality?

At the extreme ends (24mm and 105mm) of zoom, you see fish eye and pin cushion effects. If you program the lens into the camera and use lens correction in the camera software, wouldn't that negate the effects?
i hope atleast i have those lens, it was actually my dream lens, I need my kit lens to rest now :(

Thankyou for this video tutorial I bought this lens due to it`s price at the time but have since discovered it is part of the bundle pack that Canon gave out with the 6D ( I purchased the lens and my 6D seorately) so not really knowing what this lens was for I have to say it was the BEST accidental purchase I`ve ever made and I have now found I grab this one over my 200mm Unless I am shooting a concert or something in low light .. I love this lens and I never leave home without it .. I have discovered as well the photos are brighter on my 1500D than the 6D but I still would not part with my 6D .. It`s extremely useful as it can be used on both my APSC camera which I use if I`m just out and about but when doing photography for Clients I grab my 6D so it`s nice to know that I can add this lens and my 35mm lens and I am set for the day .. my poor 200mm lens hasn`t seen the light of day since I bought this 2 years ago

Hey there. Did you notice any wobble in the lens barrel? My copy has some play and I notice it when I actually move the lens around (general handing). It’s only a TAD amount of movement, but you feel it during use.

I got my copy together with the R5 last weekend and found in my converted files (from RAW to DNG) significant chromatic aberration, very pronounced at 105mm. Did you notice this effect too or do you basically use the in camera aberration correction?

I've heard that the price disparity on camera equipment between the US, UK, Canada, etc, is mostly due to tax and import duties. If thats the case, I'd be complaining to your local government instead of the camera manufacturers. Great review, love your videos!

Thanks Chris! I love your detail in your reviews. I’m trying to figure out what lens I want to get for my new canon R5. I bought a Samyang 85 1.2 manual lens and love it with the manual focus assistant built into the R5 it’s incredible and I think more professional photographers will start to look at more manual lenses (not sports photographers though, due to speed). I’m wondering if I should just got with this 24-105 for weather sealing and image stabilization pulse covering a ton of focal lengths. Or to go with the sigma art 50mm 1.4 and just keep using adaptors. Not sure yet any advice on this one?

Hi, I just bought a Canon RF 24-105. One thing puzzles me. Is it normal that when I take the lens in my hand and move it slightly, I hear "strange sounds" inside? As if it had some slack inside. I also have a 15-35 RF lens and there is no such problem there ...
Would like to ask which would be a better choice? 24-70mm f2.8 Sigma DG ART or 24-105 f4 Canon RF Currently I have a 85mm f1.4 Sigma for portraits. Both 24-105 RF and 24-70 Sigma lenses are similar priced.

What an AMAZING review. So very detailed and easy to understand. I've been shooting on the EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM for around 5 years now. It came as a kit with my 6D (which still packs a pretty amazing punch in 2021) and I never even knew they made a version II of this lens! Naturally, I had a bit of buyers remorse thinking I had gotten the less capable lens when I thought back to my 5-year-old purchase. Having purchased the 6D/24-105L kit in October of 2015, had I JUST missed this amazing upgrade a little of a year later. Well, thanks to your review, I can easily say NOPE! This was an instant like/subscribe situation. I haven't even had a chance to check out the rest of your channel but I HOPE you kept making content I know the work that went into this review. Going out and getting the shots, stitching them together in PS, dropping them into Premiere, doing the voice over, uploaded, etc! The effort bleeds through this well-constructed and generous review. The true downside of the old 24-105 is lens creep. I find this very frustrating and maybe the upgrade might be worth it just to get rid of the lens creep... Also at 24 the new lens looks better. The improved IS certainly is useful.and the save filter size is ideal. But is it worth the 400 Dollar difference...?
Poor guy had to walk 50 metres carrying that MASSIVE lens! How did he survive carrying that whole 1 kg weight of his camera and lens combined?
Silent IS is probably the reason for this release. It is a big improvement for video makers.

Hey Christopher, I just got the Canon EOS R with a 24-105 RF STM lens. I have an EF 24-105 USM I lens and I have a lens adapter for the EOS R. I am wondering if there is much difference in photo quality between the 24-105 RF STM and the EF 24-105 USM? I am debating whether to keep the EF 24-105 USM or sell it.
Anther great review Chris, I have the original and it is my sharpest lens. Canon couldn't improve it so re-packaged it for $$

Hi folks.. Three years on! I have the old version of this and the AF is not as nosy as Christopher's one. Probably has not had the same level of use. Even with video a noisy lens is not a problem if using lavalier or, to a lesser extent, shotgun microphones. Very helpful review, just saved me £1,000! Cheers. BobUK.

Really don't know why Canon will let the lens hood made in Taiwan, just a small part to compare with the camera?
I don't shoot video very much, more a stills kind of guy. But the noise with stabilization is a big deal for videographers. The first lens really isn't a good video lens when sound is important, the new lens is a video lens. Newbies to the hobby shoot much more video than us old farts. So for the video guys and gals, a big improvement, the old lens wouldn't have been usable with its sound problem.
Wanted to invest in the mark ii version as I now have lens creep with my five year old from new mark i version. Is this typical of the mark i edition?
