Hello I am from the Netherlands,can you tell me what kind of drill in mm size that I must use to drill a hole in the cartridges ? Thank you
DO NOT USE POWER DRILLS THEY CAN EASILY DAMAGE THE CARTRIDGE! THEY CAN MAKE THE HOLE OVERSIZED SO THAT YOUR PLUG WILL NOT FIT TIGHTLY WHICH WILL RUIN THE CARTRIDGE! ALSO THEY WILL DUMP ALL THE SHAVINGS FROM THE HOLE INTO THE CARTRIDGE WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY FLOW TO THE BOTTOM of the cartridge WHERE THE INK TRANSFERS OVER INTO THE SPONGE WHICH CAN SLOW DOWN THE INK TRANSFER PROCESS CAUSING THE CARTRIDGE TO EVENTUALLY MALFUNCTION. HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN HAND DRILL. go find you a tree branch about 1/2 - 3/4 inch diameter after you peel off the bark if necessary, or get you a dowel rod, then cut it about 1 inch long, then drill a 5/32 hole in one end about 1/4 inch deep, then super glue your 5/32 inch drill bit into the end of the plug you have cut. now you have a very nice hand made drill device to drill holes into your cartridges VERY CAREFULLY "by hand" instead of using a power drill which can easily cause a damaged drill bit OVERSIZED hole if your not careful WHICH WILL RUIN THE CARTRDIGE IF your plug that fits into the drilled hole does not fit tightely. YOU ONLY NEED TO DRILL INTO THE CARTRIDGE ABOUT 1/2 INCH DEPTH NO MORE. DO IT VERY CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY AND MAKE SURE YOU ALIGN THE DRILL BIT UP AS PERPENDICULAR TO THE CARTRIDGE AS YOU CAN. you want the drill bit to align up and exactly follow straight into the hole you are making. SLOWLY TURN THE HAND DRILL/BIT CLOCKWISE AS YOU DRILL INTO THE CARTRIDGE KEEPING THE DRILL BIT AS STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE LINING UP IN THE HOLE. AFTER YOUR ABOUT 1/2 INCH OR SO DEEP INTO THE CARTRIDGE WITH THE DRILL BIT, [THIS IS CRITICAL] BEGIN PULLING THE BIT BACK OUT HOWEVER, KEEP ROTATING THE BIT AS YOU PULL OUT, THE SAME DIRECTION CLOCKWISE AS YOU WERE TURNING IT WHEN YOU DRILLED INTO THE CARTRIDGE, DO NOT TURN THE BIT COUNTERCLOCKWISE, THIS WILL INSURE THAT YOU WILL REMOVE ALL THE PLASTIC PARTICLES THAT WILL STAY LODGED ONTO THE DRILL BIT ITSELF AS YOU PULL IT OUT SO THEY WILL NOT FALL INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE CARTRIDGE! [one other thing when you are resetting the cartridge put blue tape not only over the vent hole of the cartridge as mentioned but also put it over the hole you drilled into the cartridge [or put a plug in it] as it will otherwise also cause air to flow into the cartridge which will help make the ink drip onto the cartridge setter head during the reset process]

What you mean expensive, I buy a set of 5 ......2 black's, 1Y, 1M, 1C for 12$ only the grey one is not included Canon Pixma IP8750. I see no difference with original Canon ink.

I used my hand drill to go into the ball and then pulled it out that way (with a very small bit) then hand drilled the the big hole. It’s a lot less scary.
I never thought I would be laughing at a cartridge refill video, but here I am laughing so hard. Pro tip, look for the Pro-10 on sale around Christmas. After rebate you can often get them for $150 and the cartridges are MUCH EASIER to refill. Literally reset the chip and then drip the ink onto the bottom of the cartridge and you're done. Oh, BTW also sign up for camera store email lists and other photography websites that will alert you when special deals on the Pro-100 will go on sale. One can often get the Pro-100 after rebate for all of $60-$80 so you have a cheap set of ink and spare parts if you need.
I have a set of Precision Inks and I was planning to replace just my precision ink Cyan Cartridge with a Canon original CL-42 Cyan. Will this affect my prints drastically?

My printer have 2 black cartridges and one more is bigger which is pgbk..what is the different between bk and pgbk ink ? And can i use the same black ink for both of that cartridges ??
Hi and thanks for the tutorial. Do you think, is it possible to re-fill the Canon PIXMA PRO IP 100s? Thanks in advance. The only issue is this, when the ink runs low, the printer starts to messing about and keep warning you that the ink is low and stops printing (at least, this is my experience.)
Videos from other providers suggest drilling out the ball seat with a 5/32 inch drill bit. Am I right in thinking that the plugs you supply make this unnecessary?

I've done a lot of cartridge refills over the years having to buy a new chip resetter for each new printer, but now I just buy refillable cartridges with auto reset chips.
That's great but if you check my video i use a regular screw to plug that hole.
will this work for my canon mg5470..it has cli 751 cartridges

When pulling out the ball. I found that a thick pin pushed into the ball deep enough will let you pop it out. Best way to do this without pushing too hard into the ball is to heat up the pin beforehand so that it just melts into the center of the ball. If this makes sense?
got a canon mg6460, refilling it is the easy part but i cant figure out how to reset the ink levels, it wont let me print still says its low on ink
First of all - thank you so very much for this instruction. However, a quick question - I've just bought Canon Pixma MG-5750 and would love to know if I will be able to use that method for re-filling cartridges. The original set of cartridges is waaay too expensive to even consider it and the third-parties' products are sparse in Poland. So, I was thinking - refill would be optimum for me. Can I or can I not use this method? Cheers!
Why not just buy a new cartridge? Do you cut open your toothpaste tube to scrape out the dregs?
