Canon Pro 100 Ink Options OEM 3rd Party Or Refill?
Canon CLI-42 Set ( 8 Ink Cartridges) Compatible Ink - Buy Direct!
Refilling CLI 42 Ink Cartrige Step Three
My method for Modifying The Canon CLI 8 and CLI 42 cartridges
Great post! Quick question: Can I get OEM Canon refillable cartridges Or do I have to drill hole in used cart to make them refillable?
How about inkowl for canon did you test it
I know people stress the OEM cartridges, but I've always bought my third party cartridges from Inkproducts and the sponges have always held ink well. Been using them for years. You put just a bit in the reserve tank first and let it take that ink into the sponge, then you fill the reserve tank up. Keeps the sponge saturated. It doesn't work as well if you try to just completely fill the reserve tank in one swoop. That's been my experience anyway, but never heard anyone else use or comment on these carts.
Thank you so much for sharing with us!
1.25x play speed is definitely required
hey man how you doing? I have the pro 100 running on a iMac but my pictures look magenta any ideas?
Iv heard only good things about precision colors ink. Have you noticed prints made with that fading quickly? That's my only concern. I figure if you varnish the print with a spray or frame it (or both ) that prints using precision colors ink would hold up
Beside the garage door that spooked me, : ) this was one of the most helpful uploads about inks out there. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the video
To make certain I've flushed the Windex from the Yellow cartridges, I created a jig to attach to the faucet. I got a shower attachment from Home Depot that attaches to either a kitchen or bathroom faucet and cut off the shower at the other end. The raw hose fits almost perfectly inside of a 20ml syringe with a slip luer end. I used epoxy to seal the hose to the syringe. After it has cured, attach the hose to the faucet and slip the syringe into the hole on the cartridge. Be careful opening the water flow so the hose doesn't slip from the faucet. Once set, go have a cup of coffee and the constant water flow will completely flush the Windex.
I have now watched all three videos David. Really good video's great step by step instructions.
I watched some of the other videos but this one was great. I watched all three. I just ordered this printer and don't know if I will get to third party inks but it's great to know there is another option. Thank you.
can I use CLI-42 cartridges in my IP6600D instead of CLI-8?
Terrific Video- Thank you Jose Rodriguez!!!
Hi, thanks for your videos. I have a question regarding modified CLI-42 cartridges. I drilled 5/32 hole, but there are some plastic shavings inside the cartridge, should I be concern about them and try to remove it or just leave it alone like some people say. Is there a way to remove those pieces of plastic. Thanks.
cartridges are super cheap on fleabay, why waste your time doing this?
Hi Jose - even if a small amount of swarf / dust gets into the cartridge when you drill the 5/32 hole i gues it doesn't matter too much as it will be retained by the sponge in any event?
Where do you buy the chip resetter?
Hi. Precision Colors clear plugs that were included with the refill kit don’t sit flush against the cart... they fit snugly but don’t go down completely. Is this ok?
Great video. You talked about acquiring and using a second set of carts in another one of your video's. I would like to purchase a 2nd set of carts , so i don't want to have to transfer my original Canon 42 chips to a new set. a.) How can I get a second set ? b.) Will I need a second resetter ? Thanks for your generous consideration, Sincerely .....................
Your videos are super helpful! Thank You so much!
Where do you get the pluggers from?
Jose can you reset the chip with the cart refilled completely in a original yeilow
Jose, every time I watch one of your videos I learn something new and end up with a new question. I'm not sure I've ever heard you say put tape on the vent hole when storing but I may have missed it in another of your videos. Will ink spill out of that hole if flipped over?
Hi, Jose I recently order the empty carts from precision ink to avoid having to drill the holes myself..when they arrived they had a note the says: the chips that are installed on these re-furbished cartridges cli-8 will not work on the pro-100..you carefully need to remove these and transfer cli-42 chips to these cartridges..I'm a little confused now because I assumed all I would have to do upon receiving these carts is use the little reset tool I purchased? Help please 🤔 Thanks
hello Jose, Thank you for all your input and work with the Canon Pro 100. I do have 2 questions though. First. Why don't you like the a hole drilled in the top of the cartridge and what benefit is going through the process you describe? Second. Wouldn't be easier that after you remove the ball you take the razor you show and trim the bottom of the plug a bit so it fits and seals.? Again thank you and I am continuing to watch your vids that definitely help me get 100% use out of my Pro 100. PS sorry if these questions have been asked before !
Hi Jose! Thank you for all of these very helpful videos! So I am a beginner with all of this and am a little confused with the refilling process. It's not you, your explanations are very thorough...I am just really new! I have a pro 100 and am using it for a greeting card business with cardstock and just simple black lettering on them. What is the easiest way to refill the carts? Meaning, do I have to go through the drill bit process, flushing and all of that? You mentioned PC selling ready to go carts...what exactly would I be looking for on the website to get those? And then, what process would I go through with those ready to go carts, would I be able to skip a lot of this process? Sorry for all of the questions, I don't know much at all and am slowly learning. Any advice would be appreciated!
Joe I have a choice between a 3.8 mm or 4 mm drill bit as I don't have a 5/32" drill bit. 5/32" is equal to 3.968 mm. Do you think I should use the 3.8 or 4mm drill bit as a replacement for the 5/32"?
Hi Jose, I would like to send you a support contribution through Paypal, I don't trust posting my credit card online for security reasons. Is there an email address I could send you this. Thanks for all of your help getting started. Michael Breskin
Great video. I've been looking into the Canon Pixima Pro 100 and came across your videos. Thank you for taking the time to explain how to refill the ink cartridges. for a person like myself would it be wise to just buy the deluxe ink refill kit from precision colors and just transfer the chips? i don't have power tools to make the modifications necessary
thanks jose I had sent you a private email
