What an excellent starter kit this is comprising of lots of very useful light mods. Not expensive either for the variety of bits you get too. I particularly like the mini reflector with grille and the mini softbox. I guess buying a bowens mount flash clamp with similar accessories would be considerably more expensive ( although doing so would allow you to use lots of bowens mount light mods in addition to those offered here ). All in all though a great introduction kit for the new strobist who wants to move beyond bare/ diffused flash 😃

Hi Joe! Thanks for these videos because I am definitely a natural sunlight person but as we know, not always available or easily controlled! 😊. I know you did a ring light video a while back and I think that's the way for me after doing my research because I am going to be doing macro. I need to get inside the flower to see the stamens and my fear is I will get one that says I can control the strength but it will be either too strong or not strong enough. I am pretty sure I will be going with the Canon 100mm 2.8 macro. I can't spend a lot Joe. I know you get what you pay for but any brand suggestions? Thanks!!!

Good review.
The Lightsphere is good with gels and/or tracing paper. The grid, especially the finer one out of the snoot can go into monobloc snoots, but the second adapter you called a snoot is just a grid but again it’s great with gels for backgrounds especially CTB. A beauty dish is about relative size, and as speedlights are used much closer to the subject it’s relative size increases. It’s still s&*£ though, except maybe with the grid for a spotlight effect. The barn doors don’t have any pros that I can see, at least the softbox can be used for macro. The coloured disks are "ok" but not a patch on proper gels. I mix mine up with my Lastolite grids etc and Godox softboxes. You can buy the holders, I bought 2 for £7 on eBay, for what you pay for the kit compared to MagMod and Gary Fong it’s there's some decent stuff and if you play around and a little inventive it’s pretty good. Would I say buy one? Yes, but remember you are getting an entire kit for £6 less than a MagMod modifier, without a holder, so it’s going to be cheap plastic.

That is not a beauty dish per se, it is a 7" reflector. The softbox is fine if you place it closed enough to the subject and it is perfect for product photography.

Thanks for review! Could you please measure maximum length between holders when screws are tighten? I have small tiny flash (3 cm), in ebay offers I found some pics where written that minimum is 3.5cm and maximum around 5.5cm Thanks!
