Thanks for the review, few questions-Can we change from Fahrenheit to Celsius ?-Do we have to hold button when taking the reading-Does it make noise when reading is done?
Are the readings accurate? If so, how were they determined to be accurate?

Those plastic sanitary covers snap on because they need to fit snugly to depress the RED PLASTIC PIN at the base of the earpiece. If that red plastic pin is not depressed, the unit will not work! If you run out of the sanitary caps and still want to take your temperature, you can depress the pin with your finger and keep it depressed while you take the temp. What's a little ear wax among friends?
