In Nepal we call this “Churpi” usually in Nepal humans eat it. Speaking of it I am chewing it right now it is very good for dogs and humans also love it. Authentic Churpi is way harder then the Himalayan dog cheese that is why I buy it from the grocery market and then put it in some water so that it softens up.

Hi Dr. Richter, thank you for the info. What about roasting the bones? My puppy now 10mo old and both him and I survive because he has been on your supplements to help with his GI problem. And I am leery about giving him anything raw because of this. His stomach is much stronger now but I’d like to know an appropriate way to acclimate him to this stuff. I roasted a piece of beef shank bone for him one time and he LOVED it! I also buy it from Petsmart but that stuff smells so rancid so I am not too keen on giving it to him. Thank you, Dr. Richter.

I found my dog back in 2017 she was abandoned on top of a mountain in the winter time. And I didn't really know anything about any of this. A few months later in the Autumn of the following year my friend and I were butchering a buck and we gave her the whole leg no meat on it it was the femur and part of the other part of the bone I forget the names of them that go out of the hoof I didn't think nothing about it I was ignorant. She was outside chewing on this thing and she was in bone heaven a few hours later I came back to Abby and the bone was gone and I thought someone took it through it away. The next day she got sick not throwing up but she had massive bowel movements because it was way too much bone and her bowel movement was dark gray and color and she's perfectly healthy now but that was an example of a raw bone but in excess like it was too much and I know better now. The other blunder that I was doing was my friend that I was butchering the book also likes to make baby back ribs I'd always give her a bone that was cooked slow cooked but it was still cooked and I thought that was perfectly fine and she never had an incident and she loves those bones but now it's like I can't do it. B This video was awesome and I appreciate the information.
We bought a raw buffalo bone for our dog. The thing is that it stinks....a LOT. So we dried it in the sun but a couple days later, it rained, and then it was sunny again. So we kept the process going. We knew crows were pecking on it but we didn't interfere as there were still a lot of fat and tendons on it and thought the crows would peck off that waste. Today however, we burnt it in coconut husk so that the remainder of the bad fat and bacterial growth on it will die. We just realised this was what we should've done since day 1 (We're noobs in this.... Jenny is our first dog.). Are we on the right track in the making of a bone? Pls excuse the English

I give our puppies raw chicken, raw chicken necks and feet and they love them! Chew them up without any problems!! It also keeps them from chewing on anything they are not supposed to be chewing on..
Dogs evolved to eat raw bones, not cooked. As long as you wash them and lightly inspect them then you are ok.
