Is it safe to give my dog something like freeze dried whole duck necks? They are raw, but have been freeze dried.
i handed my fried pork bone for my dog to chew the meat off, really without thinking, and he just crunched through in the blink in 2 seconds, it but he seemd to swallow a big piece... is there anything i can give him to help him pass it?
I never gave my dogs cooked bones but my puppy got a hold of a pickle pig feet bone smh that's what got me to watch this video. Should I be worried??
Hi Dr. Richter, thank you for the info. What about roasting the bones? My puppy now 10mo old and both him and I survive because he has been on your supplements to help with his GI problem. And I am leery about giving him anything raw because of this. His stomach is much stronger now but I’d like to know an appropriate way to acclimate him to this stuff. I roasted a piece of beef shank bone for him one time and he LOVED it! I also buy it from Petsmart but that stuff smells so rancid so I am not too keen on giving it to him. Thank you, Dr. Richter.
I've got an XL bully who was eaten a cow leg bone but just notice a load of small pieces in his toilet?? Seems fine just thinking that it should have been digested
Can puppies have raw bone marrow I have a 10 week old French bulldog
This is great information, thank you. Now are these bones from meat I buy at the grocery store when buying protein for my family? Would I try and clean them up a bit first before giving to my dog or would I just give it to them no water rinse or anything? Sorry for the questions I just never done this before .
I found my dog back in 2017 she was abandoned on top of a mountain in the winter time. And I didn't really know anything about any of this. A few months later in the Autumn of the following year my friend and I were butchering a buck and we gave her the whole leg no meat on it it was the femur and part of the other part of the bone I forget the names of them that go out of the hoof I didn't think nothing about it I was ignorant. She was outside chewing on this thing and she was in bone heaven a few hours later I came back to Abby and the bone was gone and I thought someone took it through it away. The next day she got sick not throwing up but she had massive bowel movements because it was way too much bone and her bowel movement was dark gray and color and she's perfectly healthy now but that was an example of a raw bone but in excess like it was too much and I know better now. The other blunder that I was doing was my friend that I was butchering the book also likes to make baby back ribs I'd always give her a bone that was cooked slow cooked but it was still cooked and I thought that was perfectly fine and she never had an incident and she loves those bones but now it's like I can't do it. B This video was awesome and I appreciate the information.
We bought a raw buffalo bone for our dog. The thing is that it stinks....a LOT. So we dried it in the sun but a couple days later, it rained, and then it was sunny again. So we kept the process going. We knew crows were pecking on it but we didn't interfere as there were still a lot of fat and tendons on it and thought the crows would peck off that waste. Today however, we burnt it in coconut husk so that the remainder of the bad fat and bacterial growth on it will die. We just realised this was what we should've done since day 1 (We're noobs in this.... Jenny is our first dog.). Are we on the right track in the making of a bone? Pls excuse the English
What about cow hoofs?
I found you don't ever want to give your dog a Pig hoof because it is very soft compared to cows or deer hoof
My dog ate cooked chicken bones from 2 months onwords is anything will happen to my dog? Please reply please 🙏
Thank you for helping!
Thank you am getting a little puppy
Just want to ask a question what if my is chewing plastic bone and eat little piece, almost a size of a rise grian can it hurt him.
I used to give dogs bones until I seen two dogs get the bones stuck in their neck, butt hole, a chipped tooth. I like to learn about health tips.
I give our puppies raw chicken, raw chicken necks and feet and they love them! Chew them up without any problems!! It also keeps them from chewing on anything they are not supposed to be chewing on..
Dogs evolved to eat raw bones, not cooked. As long as you wash them and lightly inspect them then you are ok.
What about soft chicken bones?
What about chicken bones
As a vet myself, it is so sad how many people support this vet. I will never respect any vet that recommends rawhide and awful cheap brands like dingo. Not to mention she doesn’t even know the difference... she kept calling a RAWHIDE a nylabone 🤣 FYI rawhides are not edible. That is a lie. Not to mention she said “ some dogs like labradors “ as if breeds = chewing style.
Good jobs
How about a golden retriever
Is her definition of a bone different from normal humans?
I don't trust any of these bones
thank you
Where is the easy chew link?
I don’t want to buy a bone, can my dog have a beefy bone off a roast?
Were can I get the ones you make ?
My skinny lil Pitt is chewing the rawhides in a day and their expensive. I hope he’ll be okay with raw beef bones for now.
Completely disagree. Rawhide is made with bleach and glue, not just a choking hazard. Also, they’re not all “Nylabones.” Doesn’t seem like Dr. Lindsey is familiar with the products shown here.
The big horse bone she called it they r not good they r boiled so they r not strong they splitter and shard really bad they r no good and raw hides r horrible use bully sticks
Where is the link to buy the bones ???
lol "Occupated"
I am getting a pet Chihuahua after I get a new 🏠 and you are the best
Hey nice video, and thanks , I have a Patterdale Terrier and it's important that it has use of its teeth since its a Little Road Hunter , I was wondering what were the best bones for teeth to stay sharp and not get blunted, is it animal bones or rawhide , thank you very much and nice video keep making them please😎👍👍
Alright...
I dont agree with Dr. Lindsay....she wasnt even sure of what she was showing to us. Please stick to your title.
This was great, I've been looking for "how much boiled chicken should i feed my dog?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Banailey Startling Blaster - (do a search on google ) ? It is a great exclusive guide for discovering how to improve your dogs health without the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.
My dog's vet loves you 😂❤️ It's not as easy to get to the clinic this year with our city having 20,000 confirmed COVID cases so far, so your advice is invaluable right now 🙏 I usually call my vet to double-check though! I have a Malinois with Pica soo 😅 I can never be too sure 😂
very helpful, and good to know from an expert veterinarian.
Thank you for sharing
Clicked in the video got a Kit Kat chocolate add 😂
I don’t know if you have done a video on dog food and what they actually need and how bad some of it is but that’s a good video to make and also, I just ordered Dr. Marty’s freeze dried raw dog food and I think that stuff is the best I have ever found but it’s too expensive to just feed that to her plus it’s too high in fat and protein for her pancreatitis issues so I feed her at Royal Canin but give her that as a treat. It just makes me so mad that there aren’t really regulations on dog products and we are making them sick because we are an educated about themAnd think we are doing the right thing
Omg my dog loves cauliflower too but it gives her hives it was so sad when I gave it to her she loved it but then came into the bathroom and I looked at her face and she had hives all over I felt so bad She loves a lot of fruit and vegetables because I eat that and also a Share?? with her apples are good without the skin and seeds same with pears also she really really likes raw sweet potato and so do I I discovered! Plus I checked with the vet and did some research and those things are all OK for her she likes corn on the cob but I learned that bad grapes all that ... you know, research people! before you give your dog something
Carrot sticks are good for cleaning teeth (but don’t buy baby carrot sticks because they’re dipped in chlorine ) nothing made in plastic is safe and even US stuff needs to be thoroughly researched (but probably bad.) Anything they could choke on or that could cut them bad.... I think you with too much protein or fat also bad. A lot of dog food companies talk about minimum 13 a minimum fat but a lot of them have actually way too much. My dog got pancreatitis because of it and also wet food has in general less fat and protein then dry food so it’s usually better for their health but not helpful for their teeth
I don’t understand your hammer rule because then you show a bendable treat and you could definitely hammer and nail into that I don’t understand what you mean
Rawhides can also get stuck and have problems when they’re being digested. I hate how there’s no true regulations on dog food/products it’s messed up. Also greenies and other products market themselves safe and healthy but if you look at the ingredients you’re basically feeding your dog plastic it’s terrible
I’m trying to understand...if you can hammer a nail in then don’t give to my dog...bendy is fine...my dogs love pig ears. We have a really hard time finding chew toys that one of my dogs doesn’t kill in 5 minutes. We do monitor them while eating their treats and have never had an issue? So what do you mean by if the nail goes through don’t give it to my dog
Milk bones are wheat flour and my dogs have terrible yeast infections.
Do not buy jerky treats from china especially duck jerky they are known to have carcinogens that destroy the kidney and kill your dog.
Thanks for your post. My girlfriend has a Chihuahua. This dog goes through 2-3 bags of the Oinkies a month (chicken) AND a big bag of Chicken jerky. With the Oinkies, she pulls the chicken off and leaves the rest (I wish I knew how to get her to get all of the Oinkies...LOL) . She is fed table scraps but mainly meats. She has gained a lot of weight in the last 2.5yrs but what I am more concerned about is she is living off mainly treats ,just about all meats (chicken) no veggies. When I first met my girlfriend she was feeding her cat food and I showed her online how dangerous that was. Or not healthy. I'd like to see the dog eat all off the Oinkies unless they are not supposed to, also eat more DOG FOOD. All those treats is expensive plus it just can't be good for the dog. I'd like to know what to look out for as far as health problems and how to make my girlfriend understand that the dog will eat her dog food when she is actually hungry. I was raised to give dogs treats for doing tricks, behaving good, when we came home after leaving pet alone, etc.....not as primary food....and they had dry dog food ready any time they were hungry. It may be my way was just traditional but again, a small dog only eating a small handful of dry food a month, just can't be good for her. Please let me know your suggestions. Thanks again
what about couches my dog seems to love those
My dog is loving so much apple. Our veterinarian said your dog could be diabetic if she eat more apple. My dog's breed is yorksire terrier but not small ones she is high then the other yorkshires. She's weight 3 kilograms. My dog also loves cucumber and chicken (loving so much) can I give to her these?
Thank you for your help!
Who the hell is this scrubs wannabe. Dogs should only eat raw food.
Milk bone brand is one of the worst things you can give your dogs.
you shouldn't be suggesting rawhide to any dog or pet owner to begin with. the chemicals put into them to make the rawhide is poisonous, and for it to keep its shape, they use glue. the jerky treats have been proven to give dogs liver failure. so you may want to reevaluate some of these treats you suggest.
My dog is 14 and his teeth are horribly plaqued and the doctor said its a must for cleaning. Will he be safe with anesthesia at that age? He is on clindamyacin for gums disease. I am worried about his age and anesthesia. Do you recommend it?
today, I just bought my 14 week old French bulldog Milk Bone treat(s) that are small & good for dogs under 20lb which is prefect for my dog, & it has no meat flavors it has some protein & makes your dog breathe smell A ok! it came with a good amount for $2.99 (I live in Cali) so that’s a good price 👍 he also loves them :)
