I have these speakers, my subwoofer has just bit the dust and they are coping with the low end superbly.
Nice video! Can i pair it with my Onkyo ht 3300 receiver ( 6 ohms, 110 w per channel)? Also which 2 front speakers would go well with this center speaker?

I have had a pair of these since '99, they've been all over the country with me. Definitely one of the best speakers I own. I also have CR7's in cherry, CR9's, VR940's, and a VR 920
I have a pair of these sitting on my desk, I've owned them since they were my surrounds in a pro-logic system in the mid-90's. The fronts were VR-30's and a VR-12. I still use those but have other surrounds now. These VR6's are my PC speakers, along with a 8" sub from my old logitech 2.1 setup (it's actually a pretty dang good sub for logitech). I keep wanting to upgrade them (fyi, I am running them off a OG 200W/channel RMS Adcom GFA-555, which doesn't hurt) just to do it, then I end up talking myself out of it. Part of why is that I finally pulled the trigger at one point about 6 months ago and got the QAcoustics 3020i, which are much-heralded at their price point ... I'm here to tell ya, they are 'nicer', but they are no step up sound-wise over these little beasts. They went back to Amazon. No joke, if you can find these in good shape for $100 they are WELL worth it, even $200 if they were perfect (which I think is what they went for new) you wouldn't be disappointed in what you got in a $200 pair of bookshelves, at all! They DO need a sub though. Bass is definitely lacking but what do you want it's a 5.25 driver. But you don't need a monster sub esp. not in a smaller space. Tellin' ya, these play all styles of music very well, they're very balance and pleasant to listen to, with a very nice soundstage and imaging for $200/speakers.
Put them on 24 inch stands , back them up to the wall (closer than you had them) , sit in the sweet spot and have your mind blown. I run Focals and have very nice LSA bookshelves in addition to others and I’m telling you these are above par bookshelves. They absolutely do stand out when set up properly.
I bought these new in 98 for rears in a surround system. Later I tried them in a two channel system and I was walking around the house listening to music when frequently I would just stop in my tracks. There is a freaky “ rightness “ to these speakers that is hard to explain. I’m an audiophile and have lots of high end stuff but these little speakers are never going anywhere. Little hidden gems like these is what the hobby is all about. Saw a pair at the thrift store nearby for 38 bucks. Told the teens working there “ get these and never look back” . One reviewer once said “ Boston Acoustics never made a bad speaker” Look guys , find a pair and put them in a two channel system. They are fast ( I think that’s the thing about them) and they get loud while maintaining their composure. Just get some

Nice review. I have a pair of Boston Acoustics A-40 speakers that I use in my kitchen hifi system. Driven by a 15wpc Pioneer SX-434 receiver and Nakamichi BX-1 cassette deck. Similar frequency response to these CR6. Mine have a 3/4" tweeter and 6.5" woofer and other than being bass shy they are excellent speakers. Response is rated at +/-3dB, 68Hz to 20kHz. Minimum power requirement is 5 watts. Open airy well dispersed highs, very articulate speakers. They can get quite loud with 15wpc. Had them for almost forty years and recently got new surrounds. Good score my friend.
I like how you used the brush to clean them :) I should get one too and start doing it, it will reach the spots that a wet towel won't
