My first Bose product and I could not be more disappointed. It doesn’t even have basic features that my much cheaper Samsung soundbar has. Here are the pros and cons from my perspective Cons: 1) NO Equalizer 2) Volume fluctuates like crazy depending on what is playing 3) No control buttons on device itself in case remote is lost 4) no LED display on speaker for showing volume level, source, etc 5) No power ON via Bluetooth feature. Meaning if it’s off and you try connecting via Bluetooth it won’t power on and connect. It needs to powered on first AND switched to the BT source before connecting... Pros: 1) Decent sound

Have not read through comments I find the only negative to the solo 5 is that you can only power and pair with the remote.
Disappointed in this bar. Voice nice and crisp....there is no midrange or bass what so ever. For a sound speaker the remote does everything you could ask for except deal with actual sound settings

if you would have just covered your eyes with the sound bar, it would have lost focus on you and focus on what's in front of the camera.

The soundbar is selling for $149 now so I'm glad to see it has really good sound.
I was given a demonstration at Best Buy (was very impressed & got it)... This 21.5" long Solo 5 soundbar has much better sound than any new flat panel TV. The large Universal Remote is awesome quality over some smaller cheap TV remotes as well, and it codes up with other electronics. Even without a Sub, the adjustable Bass is impressive for what comes out of this soundbar, and the Dialog Mode button (for clearer voice, which I use mostly) is great. I recommend this for any small living area or a bedroom.
can it be wall mounted using a soundbar bracket?
don't buy it. Can't power on with out Huge and heavy remote controller. Who the heck uses remote on a speaker? what kind of device doesn't even do basics functions with out remote?? who ever designed it this way should be fired from company.
I know this video is quite old but i’ll try anyway, does anyone know how to pair this soundbar with a Virgin V6 tivo remote so I can control the sound with the Virgin remote? It’s a nightmare using both remotes sometimes. Thanks is advance if anyone see’s this!

I own both the Soundbar 700 and this one for my kitchen. I couldn't hear crap with the built in TV sound on an LG, and after purchasing this I can hear the dialogue pretty clearly. It does sound good :)

If only bose added a feature where you can hook up your own subwoofer at the back or a subwoofer sold separately and pair it wirelessly.

When you say the speakers are in the middle and lacks stereo separation, youre wrong as the speakers are angled outwards which create a wider sound field, this is better than putting the speakers at the end of the soundbar
