I initially thought it went up in steps. 300 being small 500 being middle and 700 being large. Cheapest to most expensive. Bose moto "to be better, you need to be different". So thats what bose did and confused everybody. The 500 is basically the cheapest and sounds the worst. The 500 module is also the smallest. The 300 was the top end with the 300 module. Then the bose 700 come along as the newer one. For them that don't know and are looking to buy. The 300 and 700 are next to identical. Both use the same speaker arrangements and sound is next to identical. Only the 700 having a few upgrades such as built in alexa and the ability to adjust bass, mid and treble. So if you want to save yourself 400 quid you can find the 300 bars really cheap now for the sake of loosing nothing in terms of build and sound quality. Bose were pretty naughty in the marketing with the bose 700 module When the 700 bar come out. Its exactly the same as the 300 module. Both 300 and 700 bass modules are identical! Its the same module. But as prices were falling for the 300 because the 700 was out people were buying the 700 and paying extra thinking it was a higher end sub. This wasn't the case. The only thing bose changed was the name. 300 to 700 to tally up with the soundbars name. So to conclude. The 500 bar and the 500 sub is the cheapest and worst sounding. The 300 and 700 bars and modules are the same give or take a few app features. In terms of build and speaker arrangement and sound quality, they are identical.

Top of soundbar on 500 is metal not plastic ? I Like Bose but they are over rated and pricy for what you get there kinda like apple slow to catch up on features like the rest of the Flock..Lol

I knew Bose was overpriced that's why I got a refurbished sub from them for $199 and the soundbar 500 for $349, & I could always add a second sub if I wanted. The 700 sub has a 10" sub & the 500 series has a 6 1/4, so I could literally buy another full priced 500 series sub and have 2 of them and its still less than the 700 and would be basically a 12" sub.

Hi Gamerment, I see you have a 75 inch screen. For a screen that big, why didn't you go for the 700 model which is a tad bigger? I'm asking because I too have a screen just as big but I cannot decide between 700 and 500.

I dont get how bose get away with it 🤣. It doesn't come with a sub, it doesn't come with a display, it doesn't support hd audio, it doesn't come with rears and it comes with a cheap remote! And they they charge a premium price! Then..... People pay it 🤣. I'm not against bose. As an audiophile and owned brands like kef, cambridge audio, dali, monitor audio, polk and focal. I actually think bose has a very unique sound that is bose. I can shut my eyes an spot boses signature sound a mile off and I like it. However its cost to sound ratio is next to stealing. You can get soo much more for your money. But I can understand people wanting that bose sound signature that other brands can not offer. Its not better, its just different. I just don't think its worth what they are asking. Worst bang for buck.

I got the Soundbar 500 in January 2020. I live in a terrace house. More than enough bass for me (and my neighbor). However... I got the Bass Module 500 this week (December 2020). The difference is phenomenal. From TV speakers to soundbar... Amazing. 11 months on and the novelty had worn off. Soundbar to soundbar & sub... Amazing. 🙂 Soundbar cost £ 375 GBP. It's about £ 425 now! Bass Module 500 cost £ 332 GBP. Over 700 quid so far... Satellite Speakers next year. 🤓

How long does the update takes when you finally connected the soundbar with your phone? Cause it takes for me now like an hour and still not done and i also can’t see how long it takes
