Yeah the idea is having well vurtual surround sound at your desk so yeah he's right. It's something like the 321 system. I wish they had made something like this that was actually 5.1 surround. Yeah true too most music does sound best with the acoustimas module nob being in the center. Pull that guy all the way to the left though and it sounds a bit more like the lifestyle systems. Let's see here meh the sound is pretty crisp. Could it be better? Sure Bose can do crisp I don't know why they don't. The SoundLink System 3 was mad crisp. The bass though not car sub bass and Lynis should have touched on this most bose haters want car feel it down the street sub bass was me thinks a little better than usual bose bass. Here is the thing. The acoustimass module doesn't go lower than 31 Hz. It can go 30 Hz, but it struggles at 29. Hence why most people say it's not a real sub woofer. I don't get why Bose doesn't use an actual sub but okay. I think it's just people have to realize Bose I guess is for a certain kind of person. That person keeps buying Bose as is thus they don't do more. Also think of the kinda demos bose use to have for the products. The music they use isn't car sub music.
Not a huge Bose fan in general but the Companion 5 are pretty rad for movies and games. HUGE sound. The infamous Bose DSP works ok for movies in my opinion

I am not kidding. I got these back in 2008. Till date, I have not experienced better sound Okay it has its drawback as its not bluetooth. There’s lot of cables and setup. But the sound ! Oh man ! It will blow you off That perfect mix of treble and bass is uncomparable. There is adjustment possibe in the bass unit. Just go for it

I have these and I get speaker buzz on certain sounds with only mildly high volume
$166 USD ! Thats a great price! I was gifted a set when they first came out and they're still on my desk all these years later. I was upgraded from the Compaion 3's, I donated those to a local theater for their office and they still work. The bass on these systems work pretty good for their size. I have to keep mine turned down as to not disturb my neighbors in my apt building.
