I got a first-time-discount-code and you offered free shipping, and the sizing I needed showed up within four business days. I put it on following your installation video (well done, thank you for that) and my fist three rides were noticeably smoother. It’s a little weird at first to feel the handlebars move in such a way but also realizing you’re not getting the full-force impact on the wrists and forearms. I’m not paid by you, I’m not a “bot,” I’m a gravelbiker who wanted a more comfortable shock-absorbing option. I appreciate supporting small innovative companies directly and I hope you appreciate the feedback.

Please develop a model for Brompton. Many many Brompton riders are suffering from wrist pain. I think it is not difficult. Modification of connection between column of brompton and suspension system is enough, considering length and position for folding.

I recently completed unPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley - 90 miles & 6800 feet of climbing over some very gnarly mountain roads. This was my first use of the Shockstop stem on my Open U.P. and it worked pretty well. I focused on keeping my hands on the brake hoods to maximize the damping effect (length of the lever, or moment arm), and for the most part it worked well by taking the harsh edges off the constant vibration. Where this thing really shines is on chip seal and cracked pavement. When combined with the 42mm tires (at 60psi) almost any road feels glass-smooth. Also... I weigh 185 lb, and didn't notice excessive bobbing while climbing hard out of the saddle (I briefly hit over 1,000W on a paved road climb toward the end of my ride). All in all... maybe I expected more on my gravel bike, but the Open is pretty stiff as it is, and I felt remarkably good after the ride. I don't think the price is a show-stopper - I'd definitely buy it again.

I'm running the Canyon G5 stem and bar and I don't like the stem because of how it goes together. You have to take the whole top of the stem off to remove the bars. It looks super strong but i would rather just take the front ring off rather than whole top half.
It would be good to hear from people running into problems with stack heights on the shorter stems being forced to add spacers to clear chubby carbon frames
A big learning experience with regards to bike components that left an impression on me was way back in the day when the whole CNC machined components thing took off in the early 1990s. It was an advertisement by Shimano in defense of their top of the line XTR rear derailleur vs the numerous boutique CNC machined pieces coming out. They made the point that they too CNC'd their derailleurs BUT went a step further by forging them into their final shape because forging creates a much stronger piece with more consistent grain structure and less opportunity for stress risers. Just look at Thomson components. They machine their parts and from very high quality alloys. They WILL eventually crack. You no longer will ever see purely machined cranks for the same reason. Those CNC stems may look beautiful but you could probably get a far cheaper 3D forged stem thats as strong and weighs less and costs less. Lol, I am guilty of this myself owning the Renthal but had a cheap $20 Uno that was lighter and forged and probably just as reliable.

Well I WAS jones'n for the Copperhead. Love Deity and thought it'd go good w/my Blacklabel bars. BUT.. I really would prefer around a 5mil rise or close. I checked out those Renthal Apex and am very impressed. Saw those Apex in 50 & 60 mil reach w/a 6 deg rise and so far you're selling me on those. Nothing said here about the copperhead or ANVL stems? There are so many though, maybe another vid on the OTHER top 5 or 10 that weren't mentioned.. stay tuned..? ~JSV

Hi great video! I am just starting to look into the adjustable stem feature. I am unable to hyper extend my arms and need handlebars as close to me as I can get them. I noticed you installed the new stem facing away from you, can it also be installed with it facing toward you to bring the handlebars even closer to you? Would love to hear your opinion on this.
