You should have blackout goggles on to protect your eyes. Infra red great for your body and health but is is dangerous to look directly at the light.

Thank You for this review!! I've been doing a bit of research on infra red light and it's healing effects and been eying up this device on Amazon. The reviews there seemed to be mixed so was/am not sure. I am happy more information and an honest opinion. Another review stated that the lamp gets quite hot and to not touch the glass as this could cause a first degree burn. I think that is valuable information to take into consideration also. Do you wear special glasses to protect the eyes or not necessary with this light?
Is it LED or filiment bulbs? If bulbs are they easy to source replacements. Thanks

Interesting, I have heard about using IR heat to help promote healing from aches & pains but thankfully I never had to use something like this.

Thanks for this review. Great and thorough. I have used mine every day for two years and I do love it. I had a disc tear and can’t take painkillers so using my infrared, I managed to keep it tolerable a lot of the time and also relax the muscles around it such as the QL and PSOAS. I have predominantly used it this way and I have to say it really helps me. I find it comforting in winter and something I look forward to. I did have it too close sometimes and I did manage to irritate my skin but once I stopped it went through repair and is fine again. No permanent damage. I will try it on my face! Thanks again!
Sounds promising. But what about eye protection and possible damage to eyes, are You wearing any goggles when using it on face?

Really interested in infrared Ive been researching it last few weeks and bought an infra red bulb on amazon and an anglepoise lamp. Also some goggles for eye protection. Thought the anglepoise would help direct the lamp. I thought that you get benefit on bare skin. So your parents might not to have done this. I am going to use it for nerve entrapment in my shoulder. Will know soon. Have to agree with previous poster that protective eye wear seems an important step from what I have read.

Feel concerned now that it could possibly cause damage to skin.
please don't take offense but when using infra red heat lamps on the face closer than 80cm wear protective eye wear don't look into them it says this in the booklet,,, using led is different but even then you should according to some experts close your eyes while using it. just imagine after reading the research if it can damage deep tissue, use protective eye wear, I use an led red near infra red panel, and I keep my eyes closed x
