To my knowledge Pb16 does not reach 10 hz / 100 db - and regarding EOT start - who cares just a stupid demo and does not tell much. I like that the 2 v you can turn display upside / down when you lean over it. Agree with the app thing that would be nice. Amazing with all the settings and filters in the amp. Could be my next sub. Thx for the review !
how much sub du "need", to get that body punch, in a medium room?
IF you have to choose between these and the REL RF92? Which one would you pick?
Wow ❤😋 Which amplifier powering the two arendal subwoofers
Wow. What subwoofer *can* handle the single digit infrasonic scene in Edge of Tomorrow?!? I've seen several reviews of otherwise great subs, and you say they all can't handle it.
Have u tested it on sealed mode also then.?
do u prefere the svs pb 2000 or the arendal?
Nice review! Will you be reviewing the sealed 1723 2s version as well? Im deliberating between dual Arendal 1723 2S vs SVS SB4000 vs REL1508. I am amazed at the value of the RELs but they dont have any DSP and my options in placement is limited so I need all the help I can get. So SVS & Arendal are pulling ahead...
I've been eagerly waiting someone to do a review on the new line of subs, thanks Shane! So to summarise, Arendal have extended the response to provide more low end, but stuck to their 'dynamics' ethos. So it's the same dilemma we face with the old line of Arendal subs. Would you prefer a fatter, gruntier sound? If so then go SVS. Or do you prefer a more lean faster paced sound? If so, then go Arendal. That is, until price comes into it. On paper, the 1723 2S is the same as the SB4000 but two SB4000's cost £3598 (black gloss) whereas two 2S's cost £4200 (black gloss). To put that into perspective, that's dangerously close to the same price point as two PB4000's! (£4498 gloss black). On the contrary two 1V's cost just £3400. So do you sacrifice a bit of power and gain more in extension with the two Arendal ported subs, or do you have more power an sacrifice a bit of extension with two SVS sealed subs within the same price range?
That's almost as big as my new sub. Mine is 24x24x23. With a 15" driver and a 900 watt rms amp. 1800 watt peak wattage.
This must be insane, I have just 1 x 1V in my living room and I like it a lot!
Haaaaaa——-lllaaaaaaa——-llluujaaahhhh!! 😂😂😂love that part
So are you staying with the SVS PB16 or changing Them out to the Arendal 2V ..? And if so why ..?
Question, running Paradigm monitor (the newest and very inexpensive) was looking at a Dynaudio (maybe evoke, but ouch with the price!) then I saw this and looked at the 1961 series( both brands I would get all speakers for 5.1.2,but dyn doesn't have height so just 5.0 then rel sub with dyn) . (here's the Q) from listening yourself would you mind giving me an opinion on best for the money upgrade? (also have a NAD 758 for receiver) thanks! #brokeaudiophile 🤣🤣😢
nice subwoofer. by the way, you should review JL audio subwoofer, Gotham, Fathom or E sub.
No offense to Shane but I think the 'single digit' infrasonics bit is just incorrect. The REW of the PB16s and from what we know of the PB16s, they fall of a cliff at 15hz. And Shane's REW attests to that. Whatever infrasonics shane is feeling from the PB16 (and not the Arendals) I don't think is to do with anything single digit because the PB16s just aren't that kind of speaker.
I wonder how the 1V will compare to the 2V. The 2V is awesome but the placement flexibility due to having to accomdate TWO drivers is a pain in the butt...
Thanks for the video very nice subs love watching and weighing out info lol
Seriously are you some family of Tiger Woods?
and zero acoustic soundproofing? this is not serious ...
Oh man,my cinema is on the second floor,i would need a crane to get them into place.. They look like beasts though.. I am saving up for the Arendel 1723 THX LCR and 4xsurrounds.. Really looking forward to buying them.
After corona I Will buy 2 KS112& 2CP8 for indoor programs
Do you need to plug in to both inputs to get full power?
How would I do that with 2 subs and two k12.2s?
Buy 2 and couple them, you won’t need an 18.
I have a ks112 and just filmed a little review that I need to edit and put out but I watched this several times before I bought this sub. I honestly have REALLY mixed feelings on it. There are a lot of positives about it and if you can wrap your head around the FACT that this isn't a 18" sub and doesn't punch and hit like a 18 would, then this is a great choice. I think us DJ's always want more bass but this sub is a great compliment to my K12.2s and adds just the right amount of bass to the dance floor to help the vibe out. Plus I can lift it and put it in my car AFTER I've been spinning for 5 hours.
I had the kw181, I loved it! But looking at this video now I want to own this one. Smaller and easy to carry it. I’m sure the sound is neat. Can’t go wrong with QSC. Never.
I have two QsC K8’s can I hook up this sub without a mixer a direct connect to the speakers for less clutter for home use.
How large of a wedding could you play with 2 of these and 2 QSC K12.2s
Scene recall on a Subwoofer? Quite the luxury. Looks like an awesome piece of gear!
¿Què significa que es de sexto orden?
Thanks mitch, I want to be at the show that this is playing, I mean, supporting
@SweetwaterSound I subscribed then nothing happens?? For your #Win $5,000 worth of music gear.... many other people have had the same problem... :(
your nieghbors are like "DAMMITT" that kid is at it again
Song at 9:10?
Hello from Finland! just got this subwoofer delivered to me, any idea how many watts it can take, and what you recommend for it?
I had two HDS3 18`s on a DC 5k in a blazer did 152.2 in the kick panel , Great subs took it no problem.
I have two of these and they have a very low fs of 26hz they bang those super lows with 2 in a kerfed box it does t-shirt tricks with 1 window open partially
It is 36 mm xmax.
Love your videos bro keep it up 😁
I want 2 of these 18s
Was the sub wired to 4 ohm since it was in series ?
. I want to buy this sub but it says on the website burps only ...does that means I'm not going to be able to use the speaker alot?
Seems like a great sub, just dont wanna spend 250 bucks for a speeker.
The only time you need to reverse the polarity on a subwoofer is when you got subwoofers mounted normally and inverted in the same chamber and then you'd have to choose which sub you want to reverse polarity on so they're both push air into the box at the same time
Hey bro, can you make a comparison sound between 1 ohm vs 2 ohm, same rms power
Those subs hit hard as absolute fuck. excuse my language on your vid lmao.. but out of all seriousness those subs are monsters. I had the HDC3 15s I had 2 of them on two hcca 2500 mono blocks both at 1ohm and they slammed hit extremely hard. Put it this way they hit harder then my sundown Xs.. and those are the new HDC3 subs basically a HDC3 v2 lol just renamed to hdx3..
Parker you should review the Massive audio BOA121 and see if they can really handle 6k rms as they're advertised.
It can have 36mm xmax. Xmax is the measurements of the coil above the top plate on an evenly hung coil. (Basically). Winding height dived by two minus top plate thickness Wich is usually that much. Xmax is a good indicator of excursion capabilities but it's essentially up to the suspension and surround and motor depth to allow the length of coil to travel. Can have big xmax specs and less travel or more. For instance subs like ddx and xfl can move much more than their 16-19mm xmax specs Wich is only around 3/4".
I have two 12in hdx3 ran by two Wolfram 2400.1 strapped for about a year now with no issues. I get questioned all the time on what I'm running. Loud, durable, affordable. I love them.
Come on Soundqubed stock this dam thing, thanks Parker for the review.
Love my HDX3 12s.. 2006 F150 Running a smart 3, tuned @34hz, 2 agms, stock alt (waiting on my 270 singer alt to be shipped)
Do u got 1 or 2 ohm?
I subscribed simply for the acting
It reach 0 hertz?
Fun fact if that thing is not a servo woofer!! waste of money!!
I'm not doubting any spec on this beast, and I'm sure it sounds like nothing I've ever heard, but oh my goog God, that is the shittiest display I've ever seen. A hospital thermometer looks better than that!!! It's like from the early 80's! Horrid display for the money!
I'm sure using it will definitely make your power bill go up
I bet your neighbors hate you 😅
Subwoofers are like tits, when they reach a certain size, it's just wrong....
Imagine doing the subwoofer crawl with this behemoth in your listening seat lol 🤣
the bass is so deep that headphone users cant even hear it
Unfortunately over my budget, but very impressive, thanks for the clip, have fun with it!
I was your neighbor and when you started playing that shit... I immediately move out to Madrid Spain!! 😂 😂
now you just got to explain how the amp can put out 4,4kw rms when connected to a 120V 15A/20A or even 230V/ 16A circuit breaker, seems like they just solved all the worlds energy problems
Typically American! It's like their cars, it's big, it's big, it's heavy, it consumes a lot ... but it doesn't hold up, it doesn't brake! and they are happy and very proud ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This thing is literally the same diameter as my screen... What the hell is going on?!
"This thing puts out a mind-blowing 4,400 watts RMS." (10:50) No, It doesn't make that much power. Funk Audio needs to 'fess up. It can't make 4,400 watts RMS. Why? Because you're running it off a 120V 20A AC power source. Assuming an absolutely perfect power factor of 1, which it does not have, it can therefore only draw 2,400 watts from the power line. 2,400 watts in cannot make 4,400 watts out. And unless it has a 20A plug on the end of that IEC power cord (and you're plugging it into a dedicated 20A outlet with nothing else on the circuit), it cannot safely draw more than 15A from the power line, so its power input is limited to 1,800 watts. Assuming it's a very efficient Class D amp and assuming its power supply has a power factor of about 0.8, it can make no more than about 1,300 watts. That's nothing to sneeze at, but it isn't 4,400 watts.
Yep , let Bose continue selling you lies that they can do more with less... give me this over anything Bose makes anytime. There really is no replacement for displacement when it comes to sound.
Looks like you could open the driver up in the front and dry your laundry with that beast!, $9000 wow I could buy a lot of live gear with that much doe!
Wait wait wait I'm guessing by you zooming out on the map you live in Calgary if so I need help identifying some speakers I have and yes I tried to Google them
Yo Barret quick question. How much power are you running this setup with? I am guessing two dedicated 20 amp circuits?
Should put this in a car and really see what it can do..
